Mid 20's ◈ Fan since '04
Purveyor of gold and trash alike. Sometimes I like a well crafted story, other times I want self-indulgent fun. The thing I appreciate most about anime, besides it being a bastion of 2D animation, is the experimental nature of it. I would much rather watch a show that isn’t afraid to venture into weird territory for a unique experience than something that plays it safe and sticks to tropes. Even if there are problematic elements, as a writer and artist, I believe there's almost always something of value in a show. I'm familiar with the animation pipeline, so I try to appreciate the work that goes into every part of the process.
Right now, I'm on a journey to finish a bunch of anime that I’ve dropped over the years. (I usually would drop something in 2 episodes or less) I'm hoping to find more anime that I like that I overlooked due to poor first impressions. Even if the anime sucks, I wanna stick it out to salvage what I can.
This also goes without saying but I'm biased and my reviews shouldn’t be taken as fact; They're a reflection of my tastes if anything.
