- So first thing, we've reached a number of 200 members in our club just recently YAY!!!! It's all because of you guys! Though unfortunately we're not as active in the club as we could be T-T So be sure to talk here every once in a while~ ^^ and remember that you're always welcomed in the chat on our club page below x)
- Second thing is that our dearest club creator Tsutae has had the generosity of giving us something better than skype if we want to talk to each other, yes talk, not type but actually talk! It's called "Raidcall" and it's in the Sticky in the club discussion, be sure to check it out and join us if you can~ ^^ Of course we understand if you're shy amongst us, or you have your own personal reason. We'll never force you to do anything so don't worry about that! :)
So with those 2 announcement Knights will be returning to his post. Hope to personally get to know all of you better! See you there~ :D
Art: I couldn't agree more! When I first got into it, I myself was somewhat put off by it, aka, the characters were creepy looking 'bugged-eye' people. Though, as you would imagine, I got so sucked into the story itself that I totally forgot how much I hated the animation; it eventually grew on me.
Story: I can totally see that! I do like slice of life, so I understand different people have different tastes in anime. One thing I suppose I reflected on after watching it was that there wasn't per-say one defined plot, but instead a run-through of a tragic life of one particular man, which sort of in my mind justified it not having 'filler episodes' because it didn't seem like anything could really take away from the plot, since there wasn't exactly one to begin with. In that regard, I enjoyed being taken along for the ride and not really expecting a destination ^^
I do question though how I got reeled into a story that didn't seem realistic, but I felt rather indulged into the atmosphere of the series so much that it seemed I didn't think much of the unrealistic elements.
Characters: Yeah, Nagisa was pretty annoying. Pretty static for the series, no real confidence gain in herself, it was just jittery spikes whenever she tried to appear strong-willed. Sadly (no pun intended XD), I was a total suck-up to that 'event'. In fact, when I watched the first season, I hated the Dango song, but after seeing that happen to her, I missed her singing that! So overall, I just got sucked into the drama-rama of it.
Soundtrack- Personally 9/10 for me, I usually like listening to some of the tracks when doing work for a calming atmosphere.
Other: I really digged having each character having their own devoted episode, as it seemed to resonate over the episodes and I felt even more connected to those characters, plus for the fact that it didn't seem to hinder the plot, which I don't think there was one main one to begin with.
But I hope I didn't offend asking out of the blue like that, I myself hate Clannad fans that just think Clannad is above every single anime out there when they themselves haven't seen most of what other Animes have to offer, heck those Youtube comment flame wars make sick on every other video about Clannad. As I said, I just like reading input different from the norm of "omg...clannad is just beautiful, and everything else sucks". It seems the merit of really liking Clannad is whether you enjoy Slice of Life, can tolerate the animation, enjoy a show with no clear defined plot, and could connect with the characters. One more factor I guess involving whether or not you cry in the series is perhaps the ramifications of your life. I recall the month when I watched it, I wasn't exactly having the best week and/or month of this year, so I think Clannad just put my emotions to the brink and felt instantly won over by it.
Thank you again for the input, really!
I just like to hear what loopholes I missed or other generalities that made you settle for that rating. When you have time of course :p
I do realize that there are many that rate it lower, but because I had you for reviewing in that thread, I thought, "why not ask you" x3
I see, the cliches are halairous! I just got to the part where they got mixed up between the two "Adams" :D
