Same, though I found The Outsiders poorly written a lot of the time but I enjoyed the bits of character and emotional beats. It's one of the novels I would say that should never be even considered for classic status but considered an alright novel. I would call The Outsiders the Twilight for the category of teen boys but it's nowhere near as bad as Twilight.
Yeah, I never really got the debate. I see Holden's Novel as in a way if Jessie from BB if he had a novel. He wouldn't be as nice in novel as he is on screen but he's still a kid and goes through a lot. You can't help but feel bad for him.
Though, I get hating books cause you had to read them. I had to read Animal Farm and 1984 and along with a 40-question review for The Outsiders test after Christmas break and a 201-part homework assignment (made up of random questions per part and if u miss one u get an automatic 66) and this was all on Christmas break which for me then lasted 2 weeks. Plus, back then I had bad wifi. This made me despise George Orwell, and I get mad if I see his name.
I'm starting to try and read him though but it's hard cause I feel a sense of anger reading him like he did something to me I can't forgive. It's mainly because I had a horrible English teacher who barley could speak English and later got fired for failing most of her students and attacking one of them.
No problem, thanks. The photo is of Holden from Catcher in the Rye. He gets a lot of hate for being annoying and all but I don't really get it, he's a teen and he goes through alot and it's a miracle he made it out this okay.
