Wake me up when they stop recycling the exact same tropes in literally every show & the industry stops being a massive circle jerk where every story is about people who like anime & video games. I don't read fiction to follow people talking about fiction! Give me actual fantasy worlds, not Anime/MMO/JRPG deconstructions! I also want meaningful romance to return, not harems aimed at shallow men.
And NO, these are not "crucial parts of anime culture"! Older shows could tell stories without these tropes. They're a modern plague.
