Anything should be evaluated based on its goals and how well it achieves them. FLCL doesn't try to have a good plot, but there's plenty else to enjoy. It's a light coming of age story with charming visuals and audio. For me, MIA has become an exercise in enduring disturbing scenes while I wait for something meaningful to happen. What can I enjoy in the meantime?
