I hear you!

Anyway, I'm listening to this Monkey Ball: Step & Roll song right now...

...And it's fantastic. It goes down real smooth, you know? I like the guitar bits and its pleasant tropical vibe.

I played the demo of this Mystery Dungeon game. It seems like an okay game, but this soundtrack is really where it's at. Songs like this inspire imagination. It's wonderfully mysterious.

This Pushmo song is nice. I played a bit of it and it's sequel Crashmo. I like the" classical meets chiptune" style of this song.

Temple of Rain is good! It's an awesome mix of traditional and modern musical elements.

Thanks for sharing these songs, dude. Here are a few more for you:

This is a good selection of songs. Thanks, Nico. Rocket Rap is my favorite of the bunch. The bass, keyboard, and sax are positively funky!

I'll "turn up the heat" and share some "hot" tracks with you too.

Those songs are really good! I like the main theme's foreboding, bittersweet instrumental work. It's an emotional piece. The credits theme is very pleasant too. I'd be nice to hear an English arrangement in the localized version of the game.

Listening to it made me look up "Time Travel", the instrumental version, from Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. That's a great one...

Here's a rad song from a game I've been playing a bit recently:

I haven't played Zero Divide 2, but the soundtrack is good:

Take care, Nico!

That song from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity is stunning! Each instrument, whether they're real or not, sounds very inspired and full of life.

Oh how I wanted Noora and the Time Studio to get a North American release! This is actually the first time I've listened to the soundtrack though. I'm getting some really good vibes from this song! Once I become more proficient in Japanese, I gotta play this game. *adds song to favorites*

5 hours? I could listen to this song 24/7! Not really, but Mango Tango is one of my favorite video game songs from 2012. Jake Kaufman's music is AMAZING, and Double Dragon Neon is a lot of fun.

Good picks, Nico.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTU-jTmWr-k - There's a demo of this game on the eshop, which is where I first heard this song. It's breathtaking.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0EdxURtZ1A - When the odds are stacked against you in a Fire Emblem game, all you need is a stirring battle theme to turn the situation around!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0leSm9sgdg - Sega + 90s + Racing games usually equals awesome music.

I just recently started playing Mischief Makers for the first time. It's quite good so far! I've completed world 1 and then replayed each level to find the hidden yellow crystals. I don't know what they do, but finding them is fun and it adds a bit more challenge to the game.

Bubsy can swing! I'd like to hear a big band version of this song. The melody goes to town in back in such a short amount of time. It's a fun song.

Colonius 1 has a real crisp, quality sound. Spunky and refreshing come to mind as I try to describe this song. Jazz Jackrabbit is a series I'd love to play.

Ace Combat songs are heavy! I like the persistent rhythm, dramatic vocals, and uplifting brass. All of it comes together to set a really dramatic mood. I should play one of these games. I did play a little bit of Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces though.

I didn't even know there was a Sims game based around wildlife. This theme is very whimsical. I'm actually reminded of some of Hitoshi Sakimoto's compositions while listening to this.

I'm saving Ni no Kuni for summer when I should have a lot of time for a grand 'ole RPG. I remember loving the theme music I heard from one of the game's first trailers.

By the way, I looked at your manga list and Ansatsu Kyoushitsu caught my attention. The art and premise both seem very interesting. What do you like about it?

I think I saw a saxophone player listed in Spelunky's staff roll.
*looks it up*
There is! A musician named Jens Andersson is credited for that role.

Code of Princess is a side-scrolling action game, but the story sequences and the dialogue in them are definitely a big part of the fun.

I don't know, Nico. This first listen is doing plenty for me. I like how the urgency builds up, and the instrumentation is out of this world.

I love simple, upbeat video game music. This Kirby song sounds like it would be right at home on the NES.

Clap and Walk is great! It seems well suited for a festive dance. The relaxed, thoughtful change towards the end of the song is nice.

Klaymen's Theme is right up my alley. The melody is catchy, but also a little clumsy and mischievous. I'd really like to play this game someday.

I actually haven't listened to Ni no Kuni's soundtrack yet. I'm reserving that pleasure for when I play the game.

It's good to hear from you, Nico! Of course I don't mind. In fact, thanks for doing so. I'll repay the favor once I'm done listening to your selection.

"The Depth Napishtim" is incredible. I've already hit the replay button a few times! The ferocity of the song sounds tempered with experience and purpose. Very dignified, yet empowering. I'd definitely like to play this game someday.

I was just thinking the other day that I'd like to hear more jazz in video games! This song is really nice.

I've played the heck out of Advance Wars Days of Ruin! I'm a fan of this game's ramped up rock. It's slightly distorted and hardened, which fits the setting of the game well. Each character's personality is captured fantastically in their theme songs too.

I wish I stuck with Opoona a bit longer. I bought it on the cheap, but I didn't get very far into it. The soundtrack seemed great right from the start though. This song is full of spirit. It's like adventure in its purest musical form.

Here are some songs for you. They all come from games I've been playing lately.

Gravity Rush is a fun game stuffed with some really neat concepts. The soundtrack and floaty atmosphere make it pretty relaxing to play to boot.

I played Wave Race 64 a little bit last week and had a blast! It's such a motivating game...I mean, the race commentator and music make such a motivating pair!

That song from For the Frog the Bell Tolls is great. Kazumi Totaka is one of my favorite video game composers for sure. Like Wave Race 64, his melodies are very uplifting and catchy...okay, sorry for geeking out there. : P

That first song makes me want to groove, float in the clouds, and play Katamari Damacy at the same time. I especially dig the changes in the melody around 1:50 and 4:20.

Mighty Switch Force! has my favorite video game soundtrack of 2011. Level after level, I couldn't get enough of the electrifying BGM. That songs have pretty fun names too.

The Terraria is what I imagine a funky 8-bit factory would sound like. It's a cool tune!

So there's this new 3DS game called Rhythm Thief and the Emperor's Treasure, and it has a pretty swanky soundtrack. Here's the main theme.

Nice job getting those As, dude. Yeah, this Summer has been very pleasant. I went to San Diego last week for Comic Con, and it was a wonderful experience. There were so many great cosplayers and all-around good people in attendance. You can check out the pictures I took in the link below.

Thanks right back at you, Teal. You selected some great songs.

That Starcraft II track has great string and percussion work. It's great thinking music, I think.

The second song is really imaginative. It's so goofy, but pleasant. What an obscure-looking game though! By the way, I also like that song from The Wizard of Beyond the Yellow Brick Road in the sidebar. Hitoshi Sakimoto and Basiscape are so fantastic. <3

Another friend of mine shared that Bastion song with me a couple weeks back. It's awesome! The rhythm is so lively.

Aha, that's one of my favorite Katamari songs! What a catchy chiptune mix!

Yeah...sorry for being so wordy. I just really wanted to comment on those songs. : P

Okay, here are a few more songs you may like. Hope all's well with you, dude!

Yo! Well, I took a look at my list and thought that you could probably watch Summer Wars and 5 Centimeters per Second. Both movies are very entertaining. Summer Wars has some nice action and is pretty exciting to watch. 5CPS is a pretty deep movie, with some romance, great atmosphere, and beautiful animation (especially the backgrounds!). I highly recommend both. Hope you enjoy them, tell me what you thought of 'em when you've watched both!
