I often look back and wonder if the decions I've made have been the correct ones. But since time is unidirectional and flows without hesitation, and assertions without proof are veridically worthless, it is pointless to wonder about such concepts. Yes even more time has indeed passed and I am experiencing what some may call the vicissitudes of life. Games used to be a source of my happiness but now they are just things to pass the time by so that I may go one step closer toward the end of the tunnel. Some say money cannot buy happiness and to those people I can firmly and definitively say "good sir, you can suck my dick." I guess one can almost say that my life have been filled with disappointments but looking at it optimistically one could also say that I've stayed true to my principles. And if you thought for even one nanosecond that what I have written above was depressing and relatable then I can only call you a fool for thinking vicariously.

My honest opinion on the scoring system: (TL;DR who the fuck actually watches and finishes shitty anime just to give it a shitty score)
Few months ago I came across someone's MAL profile and this person had an average score of below 4, and I was absolutely shocked by it. I thought to myself, how can a person actually manage to finish so many animes that he considers to be trash and then gives it a bad score. Of course I was dubious about whether he actually finished all those titles in order to give it a bad score, but I suppose that is beside the point. And then in his profile I see that he was talking about how people vote on anime based on the grading system we use in schools, where a 6/10 would be a complete failure. While his argument does have some merit, just like most other arguments between 2 parties, it lacks perspective. When I just start watching anime, of course I didn't know which shows were good and which shows were bad. So I did the normal thing and asked other for advice and eventually I watched enough shows to develop my own sense of taste. I'm sure this is the same for a lot of people out there. The point I'm trying to make here is that, for a lot of people, since their list mostly consists of things they either heard were decent, or their friend recommended it to him. And let's face it, besides something like boku no pico, would you really recommend absolute trash to your friends? Probably not. And therefore if a person mostly watches decent shows he's gonna give it decent scores, which will of course raise his overall average score. All in all, I think the scoring system is fine as it is, considering that most ppl who manage to finish an anime will probably not give it an absolutely trash score.
