dismissing high school english class terms as "jargon" for "review snobs" lol that's kinda sad, but continuing to play the anti-intellectual card is just proving my point that your review comes off as endorsing darling in the franxx as a "turn your brain off" anime.
i didn't mention anything about defining anime by a story, nor did i even allude to anything related to concept of plot. the act of storytelling is related to the metanarrative, not the actual narrative, so if you're gonna try to bring up some strawmen, at least make it seem relevant to what i actually said. i think your reading comprehension skills definitely need some work, in addition to formal logic.
if you consider very fundamental elements of storytelling to be "nitpicky analysed," son, i think you might have some problems. and that's the point, your review by itself doesn't make any point other than that you liked it, so there's nothing even to argue against. if you suggest watching darling in the franxx because you yourself that it was "pretty" and it "juggles with your emotions" and that other people that would enjoy it based on that circular logic, yeah, who wouldn't come away thinking that darling in the franxx is a show that attracts people of a lower intelligence?
that's interesting
I'm assuming you watched evangelion a couple years ago
most people that love evangelion watched it when they were in their mid-late teens because that's when they're all hormonal and edgy
weak comeback. face it, your review is pretty bad and it flagrantly doesn't take Nishigori's work seriously, even though he clearly meant it to be analyzed, given how chock full of (clunky) symbolism is. you're just not very smart i take it. it's cool though, it's something you'll have to come to terms with on your own.
but yeah your review basically says you have to turn your brain off to enjoy it. also, the only things you even can say that are good about it is that it's "pretty and juggles with my emotions" which are both shallow reasons you would expect a mongoloid to say.
As someone who was also not able to finish evangelion, i just wanted to praise your Darling in the Franxx review.
As simple as it is, you picked on almost all points people pretend to be blind to so they can write wonders about how much they hate something.
Thank you for the Franxx review. U did not write 12 paragraphs because clearly, u did not need to waste your time doing so and demonstrated a clear understanding of what matters to most of us. I respect your review.
