Happy Birthday!!! <3

I don't know how old you're turning but your birthday is unique so that's something special.

Haha, I tried. Hope it works. Some "gifTs" for your birthday of some tsunderes out there. ^.^

So in Shinsekai yori, I found it really surprising why the horror element wasn't coming into play. It wasn't until episode 18ish where everyone started dying because of the rebellious creatures until I understood. They didn't really need a horror tag for just a few episodes though. It was one of those anime that focus a lot on the background description of the setting and characters. This went on for a good half of the series and honestly, I found it really boring because no action was being taken by any of the characters. There was no sign of a plot developing until more than halfway through the series when they decide to focus on some creatures called Queerats. It focused on the Queerats' issues between clans and waging war. In my opinion, it didn't even make sense for them to add it because they were literally a side character up until that point and it felt as if the anime was saying, "Why don't we put these creatures in the episodes and focus on them just for fun?" kind of thing. That sudden plotline insertion was just really confusing and I didn't like it because it didn't make sense for the series.

Sorry about the rant, but it felt really good to let it all out so thanks for reading that (if you did, if not, then I guess I'm talking to myself). >///> I can understand how it's hard to follow along when you have not yet seen the series before. What kind of anime have you been watching lately? I know we talk but we never get a chance to talk about this and this is what I enjoy discussing here. ^_^

As you can probably tell I've been really unmotivated to get back to these messages on MAL. =.= The message got long so I'm going to shorten mine up a bit.

I'm skipping over the whole Monogatari talk because I don't even remember what was happening (hope you don't mind). I do agree that some anime are missing different genre tags to them. However, I really don't like it when there's a horror anime that isn't marked horror and I go into it thinking that there are going to be some pretty cool guys falling in love. You know what I got in Shiki? A bunch of ghosts knocking outside of windows. It was scary. I'm surprised I wasn't any more freaked than I was.

I do enjoy my action anime, but it has to be good action. Fairy Tail is one that cuts it. Naruto... not so much. That anime was actually disappointing knowing how many people like it. I guess it's Shippuuden that I need to get into. Oddly enough, I've been trying to get into some reverse harem after Akagami no Shirayuki-hime sparked an intense passion for anime once again. I started Natsume Yuujinchou but there's no plot, too much slice of life, for me to really get into it. Hakuouki is also kind of confusing right now because nothing is happening between the characters. :/

It's been a while... I might lose track of where this conversation was going.

Hachikuji struck me as cute. The whole Monogatari series is more of a harem so you have all of these characters that you admire, but here I'm not fond of one or the other. You neglected to mention the mysterious Kaiki. I found him really amusing halfway through the series, more so after he started working with Senjougahara. Kind of on the topic but not, I also really like his theme which is really dark and suits him well.

I think most anime where the main character is a guy and he has quite a few of lovers, I would consider it a harem. I do agree that there are a lot of anime with missing genres, especially Shiki. >.< MAL totally neglected to mention that it's a horror anime so I went right into it thinking I would be all right but noooo.

You just made Amagami SS sound like a really bad anime based off of a light novel. I know some harem and reverse harem anime that are like that and they don't leave the best impression after I'm done watching them. I'm so happy that Fairy Tail (2014) is done airing because I don't watch airing anime and it's been a good year or two since I last watched it. (I hope I still like it... My tastes may have changed.) Talk to you soon. :)

I appreciated almost all of the arcs in the Monogatari series. They were all well explained, including the cat thing with Hanekawa, so I found no reason to not like it. Shinobu's past was really impacting and I liked her reasons for sticking with Koyomi as well. To be able to create a main character that is compatible with all of the other characters in the series must have been hard to do.

Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry should be listed under a harem anime, even if it may not have been so obvious. There are anime that do that; you see the tag and would have never considered it to be labeled for that anime. I have not seen Blade Dance before, but if it's like most harem, I can guess how the storyline develops. There are so many different harem anime out there that sometimes I wish I was a guy so I could enjoy them too. :o

Honestly, I wasn't really expecting for the love to happen between Megumi and Chiaki, but that's just me. It was good that their feelings could bring them back together despite all of the competitions that they had to go through at the same time. I've heard of Amagami SS before but haven't really taken interest in watching it any time soon. There was also a long break where I stopped watching anime and stuck with Hetalia episodes (sadly enough) for a while so I could give myself some time to focus on everything in general. I recently got back into the full swing of things and started Hai to Gensou no Grimgar. The mood of it reminds me of another anime, but I can't place my name on it. It has really pretty art but the plot is boring... Talk to you again soon. :)

If you didn't like Senjougahara or Hanekawa throughout the Monogatari Series I can only imagine how hard it must have been to watch through it. Personally, I found them quite interesting personality-wise which kept me focused on the series and always engaged. Hachikuji and Shinobu were awesome in their own unique way too. I liked how they could set off a sort of "cute" vibe despite being so serious, as in Hachikuji in search of what she was looking for, and Shinobu's purpose (which has slipped from my mind...)

In Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry, the main guy turned out to be weak in rank but strong in terms of fighting. The girl was the other way around. Every year, the school chooses a few representatives to send to a tournament where other schools compete. The series is just about how the main guy comes out to be first in the school selection so he can go to the tournament with all of the other schools. The girl ends up losing in the final round and they declare their love for each other when the guy wins. Obstacles such as those who want to bring the guy down and building a harem appear throughout the anime. I feel like a lot of average, typical harem anime are like that. Sometimes, I feel in the mood to just watch a harem anime that will make me go "meh" at the end because I'd prefer a different change of pace in the anime I watch currently. xP

I'm enjoying Nodame Cantabile. I knew there was going to be some development with Shin'ichi and Nodame at some point but it took a while to get there. I admire Nodame's personality and how she can have a happy outlook on things all the time despite being clutzy and unpredictable.

Talk to you again soon hopefully. ^.^

How are you liking the Monogatari series? You are officially farther than me in the series because I haven't gotten far into Owarimonogatari yet. :P The art style is very unique in it and I like the psychological point of view that Araragi always comes to a point about.

Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry reminded me heavily of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei because of the ranking system and especially how the main character was judged as weak but turned out to be a strong fighter when in battle. It didn't have a very good story though and some of the girls got on my nerves several times throughout the anime.

I want to watch a 10/10 anime for me but those are becoming more and more scarce as my judgement in anime has become more and more harsh. I recently finished Nodame Cantabile which was nice though since it was focused very heavily on classical music. I find it Nodame and Chiaki's relationship amusing for just bear with each other and go along with each other. (:

Enjoy your week. Maybe we'll find more time to talk. ^-^
