I'm doing well. Lucky enough to have a government job, decent apartment, good health, and so on, so I really can't complain. Conservative media would have you think that Canada is burning to the ground, but it seems alright to me (maybe that's just my bias). There's some stuff that everyone can agree sucks -- like, our large oil and gas industry is struggling for various reasons -- but all things considered I think we're okay.
I've only been on the forums for about a year, so I wouldn't know. People been saying the forums discussions used to be better?
I was gonna say, the mods have never bothered me, but I just got my first spam warning today. XD
If you hate European cars so much, maybe you should go change oil at a Dodge dealership? You might be happier.
Have you ever fixed a rotary? I doubt it. To have Mazda fix the seal was $5000. To replace the engine was $3500 it's always cheaper to replace it. He maintained his car just fine, the problem was that he didn't race it enough. RX-7 start to have problems when you don't drive them hard.
The 928 was a beautiful car, owning any Porsche is a money pit.
If you don't sign the service agreement, where I live they do refuse to sell you the car. Or they automatically void your warranty. Try paying to get your engine rebuilt on a Mercedes, the warranty/service agreement is far cheaper.
I've owned other sports cars, and they are a huge headache. Audi's everything is way too expensive to fix i.e $400 to have your key reprogrammed. I had a Porsche 928 the fuel pump went and it alone cost $800, then $1000 labor and this was way back in the early $2000's. What I like about BMW is the parts are relatively cheap for a luxury car, and I do most of my own work anyways.
My bother had a RX7, if you want to talk about unreliable and expensive he replaced the motor 2x because it was cheaper then replacing the Apex seals.
When you think about it BMW is the only European luxury car (In the US) that doesn't make you sign a "Service agreement" when you buy a new one. All others like Mercedes do, which tells you that BMW for the most part is the only reliable car.
