Why do they have to use the animation to progress the plot? They progress the plot by doing writing, not by making the graphic looks nicer. If you want to look for anime that doesn't use better graphic just for the sake of being pretty, maybe you should just stop watching anime and just read manga. You only need the art for plot progression right? Then manga is the perfect choice for you.
and.... how can you say that the cast does not have much purpose aside from either being an obstacle or fulfilling an aside that fed into the main conflict.... be honest with yourself that you don't like the character. Period.

Then try to make a 13 episode anime that successfully flesh out all of each personality, feelings, development of those huge cast of characters.

I suggest you to think and watch again the details, body language, conversation and other details in the anime, because from your reviews, imo you clearly doesn't get what the anime is trying to tell you and you clealrly doesn't pay enough attention to the progression of the plot and implied conflict and feeling of the characters. This is only my opinion, but it seems you dislike the show because it is not your cup of tea, at least from your favorite anime. What I'm trying to tell is don't sugarcoat your reviews by saying it's the plot and the characters that are bad. Just admit it, you dislike the anime because it doesn't involve things that you prefer to be in the anime (it's not your cup of tea). Because your sugarcoating are inaccurate and just make your review looks worse. Thanks

The Slice of Life Club will be hosting a Cute Competition for the next seven weeks. It's pretty much going to be the same thing as our Moe Competition, except for the fact that characters from overly popular series weren't allowed in the contest (since they always win). It's time to give other cute girls a chance to shine. There are four different groups with 32 girls in each group. Thank you, for your second event participation, in One Divine's Valentine Bash! We hope for those who participated, enjoyed it to it's full extent, but unfortunately, yet again, some users did not receive gifts because of the some who did not feel like taking 5-10 minutes out of their life to actually do what they signed up.
