**I've not looked at this in years. This is precious.
I think one of the best aspects about this site is that it lets people quickly find shows they are interested in (watching or already finished) and shows that may or may not be related these shows. I can't comment on the manga side of things because I haven't read any (in my defense... nope I don't have an excuse EDIT I'VE READ GAY STUFF NOW HAHAH BAM). As far as rating anime goes, it can change drastically from person to person, but I think written reviews by users are still worth reading, even if you (or me) thinks the review is utter crap. Why do I think this? Well, in user reviews one can see what they liked and didn't like about the show. This lets a person know before watching the show what to generally expect the show to contain. I don't care much if the person found certain aspects of the show to be excruciating or pure brilliance. I just want to know what ideas are in the show. An example (hopefully everything I have previously said makes sense), is a show like Hourou Musuko. I personally loved it, but I can see how people may find it a terrible show (or at least not enjoy it). It follows two transgender characters (insert a better description of the show here) in a slow paced slice of life school setting. If one doesn't care about issues a transgender may face (or even completely disagrees with the anime's portrayal of transgender middle school? kids) then yeah they may find the show to be boring. BUT hey people who are looking into the show will no more about what the show contains and if they are willing to form their own opinions on the content.
So I think I lost track of the point I was getting at in the previous paragraph, but the point I am getting at is that my favorite coordinating conjunction is the word "but". Nothing like contrast.
Ahem. Basically any "reviews" I write will hopefully portray some aspects of the show to allow a curious person to form a better opinion on whether or not the show is worth the time watching (or if they will enjoy watching the show). My thoughts seem sporadic. This is why I will edit this someday! EDIT not really...
About me? Well I like Legend of Zelda games...
I've seen some anime...
OH YEAH THAT'S WHAT I WAS GOING TO SAY
So on my list I will be giving shows a 1-6 rating. Each number will represent a tier (BASED SOLELY ON ENJOYMENT) that I have placed each anime. I just realized that this will hurt anime I like (you'll see in a bit). So each tier is as follows.
10 The anime I have enjoyed the most. I want to buy/ have already bought this anime.
9 I enjoyed these almost as much as tier 1. The difference between the two are small because making this tier system linear would be no fun. Generally there is one small thing about the show that bothered me or I didn't enjoy that places it in tier 2.
7 Read above and substitute numbers appropriately
5 This is where I put anime I found "average."
3 It had one thing that kept me going, but (it's that word again) I mostly didn't enjoy it
1 I finished it to say I finished it. Remember these are my opinions so don't freak out when you see certain shows on here (like Attack on needed more yuri and yaoi to save its nonexistent ending. Kidding... sorta)
Okay... Oh yeah my tags. They were fun to write and reflect my opinions (I love parenthesis) but don't take it too seriously. I am biased EDIT I AM BISEXUAL HEAR ME ROAR. Objective things like actual plot and character development do matter to me but I'm not going to waste the end of my days trying to be completely objective when we have great inspiring people like ThatAnimeSnob sensei to guide me to the correct shows to watch based purely on legitimate faults in shows without any stupid bias that only my own little brain could come up with. I think that previous statement counts as aggression EDIT ANGST TIME. Oh well. I agree with him sometimes calm down.
A final note:
(I like using the word but)
(EDIT Free needed to be legit yaoi, Attack on Titan is shit)
