[spoiler] Introduction:
Hello there, friend!
We at the Australian & New Zealand Anime Club are proud to present... Our very first newsletter!
This community was founded on the 28th of January - 2015, and since that time we've come a very long way.
You are only reading this because YOU made it possible by being a very important piece of what makes this club what it is.
That said, we are happy to announce that we're coming close to reaching the 1,000 Member Milestone!
It's a wonderful thing to know that there are so many fellow Aussies and Kiwis who love Anime and we hope that we only continue to grow from here on out.
About the newsletter:
So you might ask, what's this newsletter all about?
Well, great question. We've scratched our heads a few times and figured that this newsletter will be dedicated to letting you know that we're active!
Despite the substantial growth of our club, there is still a handful of you that we still haven't had the pleasure of getting to know.
We want you to understand that this is a safe and fun club, but if you're shy then we're not going to force you to participate, this is simply to remind you that there is a place for everyone at this club, so if you ever warm up - come and say hi!
Here's what's happening right now:
We have a wide selection of club activities that you can participate in, from anime discussion to club games or casual conversation.
Anyone in the club is free to make up whatever thread they feel would interest people!
What we hopefully have planned for the future:
GFX Competitions, Giveaways, Club Member of the Month, Gaming Groups and more!
So, other than that, there isn't much to say this time around but hopefully the next time we have to do this, there is much more to look forward to.
We again are thankful to have you, and hope that you come and have some fun with us sometime soon.
- Yours truly,
The Australian & New Zealand Anime Club.

Hey Lily! ヾ(^-^)ノ How are you? Everything's OK at school?
Don't worry about it and please don't feel obligated to reply, I won't get angry or anything :3
That's Akari from the anime series 'Yuru Yuri'. I tried once to start watching that anime but dropped it after the first episode. I think I found it boring and too much repetitive in itself... it's just like K-ON but with a tea club instead of a music club. Meh.
I use those BB codes. To insert an image you only need the tags '' with an image URL in between. Really simple :)
I see. Our winter break is also two weeks long but it's located at the end of December/ beginning of January. How long does your summer break last? Here in Germany summer break takes six weeks, but every federal state decides on its own where to put the six weeks in the three months of our summer. In other words, in my federal state the break begins often in August and lasts til middle of September whereas the break of a neighbouring state might even start two weaks later and thus last til the end of September. That's because the authorities try to avoid traffic jams on our motorways when the families travel to their vacation destinations with their kids. Do you also have this system or does your summer vacation start simultaneously in all states of Australia?
What are those assignments about? :3
Well, I don't think a cake is really suitable for that purpose. It will only break into pieces and scatter over the ground. Also the canon clearly requires it to be a toast otherwise you'll just meet a perverted old geezer like me
Hehe, I automatically had to think about that ojii-san while reading your words. :D
On a second thought, you're 15 now, aren't you? That's not that young anymore. It just shows how old I am 'cause I initially thought '99 wouldn't be that far away... But it's been already 15(!) years щ(ಥДಥщ) WTH?!
The Slice of Life Club will be hosting a Cute Competition for the next seven weeks. It's pretty much going to be the same thing as our Moe Competition, except for the fact that characters from overly popular series weren't allowed in the contest (since they always win). It's time to give other cute girls a chance to shine. There are four different groups with 32 girls in each group. One girl from each group will go on as a finalist to face off against each other in two championship rounds. Our winner and finalists will get a special card edition in their honor and a spot on the club's layout.

P.S. Due to the club having so many members, we aren't able to send out newsletters to all of our members. If you would like to receive newsletters from the Slice of Life Club, post here.
Our newsletters include notifications on when our competition rounds start, club event information, information on our monthly banner contest (new feature starting in September), news about updates and changes to the club, etc.
P.S.S We are in need of active card makers!
We do a few monthly editions and we really need some more card makers to help out with those. If you are interested in applying, click here.
Hiiiiiiiii Lily:3
Glad to see your comment in my comment section again. I almost thought you were gone foreva :O Anyway, that's Sawako from the anime "Kimi ni Todoke" on the pic. :) It seems to be a decent anime but I haven't seen it so far... maybe I should put it on my PTW-list, duh.
Oh, you're still engaged with school? Don't you have any holidays now? Because our students here in Germany are already on summer break... but since it's winter at your place you're on winter break then, aren't ya? :D
The story plot is superb! And so deep! :D I almost had to cry at the very end. But I won't spoil since you're still going to watch it, hehe ;)
Yeah, try that thing with the toast in your mouth running through the streets. Because according to the genre you will most likely bump into a cute boy who eventually becomes your boyfriend. ;D
Hmm, yeah... thanks for your kind words, hahaha. So you actually think 40 or 50 year old anime fans are creeps? :D :D That's mean! But you on the other hand are still totally young! :O Didn't expect that, to be honest. I actually thought you'd say you were born in '94 or '93 or something like that but here I am, feeling a bit like a pedobear now :/
Ohhh, somehow your message managed to slip under my radar... Öhm.
I'm terribly sorry, Sara! :/
Anyway, in case you still want to proceed...
Yeah, that's true! I see CB more and more often in people's favourites now. And that show's really worth its time - you just have to be in the right mood in order to enjoy CB to the fullest.
Do you really think the graphics are that bad/unsightly? I think they're still great - especially the animations. Well, see for yourself, maybe you'll take a liking to it. :)
I was referring to that stereotypical image of female anime highschool students, who tend to oversleep in the morning before school starts and thus chasing down the road with a toast in their mouth. Know what I mean? ;)
You think so? 25 (and soon 26) is pretty old. I feel like forty already. Ehhhh :/
How old're you, btw? Wait, let me guess first: you were born in '97/ '98?
Well, I actually am OK with other people watching harems... as long as they keep their harem love for themselves, that is. :)
That's true, the art style is certainly different (you younglings just aren't used to it), but all those oldschool animes (well, actually only those that I've seen so far) have something that animes nowadays don't have - and that is plot depth. Best example for what I mean is Cowboy Bebop. I still rewatch that show from time to time, which is the best indicator for a first class series.
Ohh, so you're one of those high school students that we get shown in animes all the time? :D Kewl. :3
Together we shall oppose those harems-lover!! May our glorious and heroic battle for right and justice purify the world from all evil deeds of the harem genre! ლ (#`ロ^;)>
//end of pathos
Ohh, what're you busy with, if I might ask? Some school issues? (゜-゜)
How about some oldschool animes? Animes from when I started to get into the "biz"? Interested?
KnK is superb! I even gave it a 10. I thought you would like it, too since it is - similar to Noragami - a (dark) urban fantasy series.
The funny thing here is, that series seems to divide the minds: you either hate or love the show and there's nothing in between. Just give it a shot.
He stopped being a pussy after his purification, that's indeed true. But his whole arc was just too much long-drawn-out for my taste. All I could do was thinking: "Ugh, another episode with that whiny jerk."
I haven't read the manga so I don't really know a thing about the bishamon arc. Perhaps they decided to cover it during the 2nd season. Assuming there's a second season to come, of course.
Anyway, why haven't you watched Kyoukai no Kanata yet?
