I love to read lots of different things and try to experiment with what I read and watch, but the only genre i don't really gravitate to in general is shoujo or shoujo romance. (Still open to trying them though! I'm just extremely picky)

Um...You said you don't like shoujo, yet you have Lady Oscar, Claudine,
De Montesse, and Cowboy Beop as your favorites. You see, not all shoujos are bad manga/anime. It's just like other genres. They have good shows and plenty of bad ones just like shoujo's do. :)

you say that the anime is long? yea your'e right with that but it isn't so bad if you follow it and just watch the newly aired episode every week.
