Some info about me: My name is Eric, and I'm from Philly. I've been watching anime pretty much my whole life (since I can remember). Nowadays I like researching and finding anime that is interesting, well produced, hopefully with a fascinating setting, great sound/music & unforgettable characters. I seldom watch random anime series that are recognized to be mediocre, but that does not mean I will not watch an anime that is not liked by the majority. I'm a sucker for quality animation and music so if a series has one or ever better both I'll most likely give it a chance especially if I find the premise to interest me, and the characters are tolerable. Oh some of you may be wondering why my number of days watched is so high. It's because if I like an anime series then I rewatch it and I've spent a big portion of my watching time on just rewatching my favs or nostalgic old ones :)
Series 4x4 (needs to be updated)
Films 4x4
~Included movies in order of fondness: Koukaku Kidoutai, Lupin III: Cagliostro no Shiro, Mind Game, End of Evangelion, Tenshi no Tamago, Mononoke Hime, One Piece: Omatsuri Danshaku to Himitsu no Shim, Flanders no Inu, Jin-Rou, Kaze no Tani no Nausicaä, Sennen Joyuu, Hotaru no Haka & Perfect Blue
Here would be a good place to say I rate movies differently than anime series, so if a movie is a 9 it does not mean it's as good as a series that is a 9 or even really an 8 in some cases. And also here's some honorable mentions that didn't make the 4x4: Ouritsu Uchuugun: Honneamise no Tsubasa, Mimi wo Sumaseba, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Omoide Poroporo, REDLINE, Cowboy Bebop: Tengoku no Tobira, Akira, Tekkon Kinkreet, Tokyo Godfathers, Stranger: Mukou Hadan & Hotarubi no Mori e.
I've always been a big shounen fan, and have no regrets that shounen was the first demographic that really caught my interest in anime as a child. So here are some of the many series I've seen in the shounen demographic that are worth a watch: ONE PIECE, Hajime no Ippo, FMA Brotherhood, Ashita no Joe, Touch, HxH 2011, Hikaru no Go, GTO, Cross Game, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Major, Slam Dunk, Yu Yu Hakusho, Death Note, Rurouni Kenshin, Trigun, Samurai Champloo, Beck, Cromartie, Dragon Ball/DBZ, Naruto/Naruto Shippuden (without fillers too bad that doesn't exist :P) Bakuman, Konjiki no Gash Bell, Soul Eater, Shingeki no Kyojin, Haikyuu, Yowamushi Pedal, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Noragami, Fate/Zero, Bleach, Magi, Baby Steps, Eyeshield 21, Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu, Prince of Tennis, Kuroko no Basket, Inuyasha & D.Gray-man.

I understand you man. You also have a great taste for anime / manga, good list. Osamu Dezaki and Osamu Tezuka really are legends ... but, you like who else?
No problem, I don't mind random friend requests haha
In regards to my taste, I find it nice that people seem to have been commenting on it recently (at least a few), but to me it's just a matter of liking whatever you like despite what others may say of it (and having your own reasons, of course).
Yeah, there's just nothing I connect to more on a creative level and makes me laugh more than Gintama. I want to go back through it again eventually to pick up all the references that flew over my head that I could probably get now haha
Ah, If you didn't consume much or any anime during the hiatus, I'm sure it was a nice break considering how much you've seen :)
I actually watched Kiki recently, and it's funny you should recommend that one, considering it's definitely one of my favorite Ghibli films (and animated films in general) at the moment.
I don't think I've seen much of Takahata's directorial works, but I want to check out Anne at some point for sure. I've seen it around here a lot and have heard good things about it (now coming from you as well). And the films I haven't seen by him do look interesting.
Anyways, thanks for commenting. It was nice to hear from someone with your own enthusiasm.
I'm up for discussing anything really, even besides anime, if you ever want to.
Yeah, IIRC Kitsu merged with another anime app that has a much younger user base compared to Kitsu, so there was a huge influx of new users (that only spam ''is this worth watching?'', pretty much). I still talk to a lot of the people that used be on there, but mostly through Twitter and Discord nowadays.
Hell ye, I love Beach House (seen them live twice). They might not be the most varied band in terms of sound, but I think they've just built onto what they did from the start with each album (though the two s in 2016 were kinda hit or miss), while trying new sounds every now and then.
oh hey, I remember you (I still have a HB account, but I barely go there these days as most of the people I care for have moved on to other places + the new user base is pretty bad)
haha don't feel bad. I'm not expecting a follow for follow or anything like that. I don't make music and I don't repost much either, so following me would be a kinda of waste.
and I wasn't even aware they have a follow limit. that's actually kinda sad.
Hope you have fun driving, I personally drove a lot as well, me and my group of friends enjoyed the drive here, it's so chill. Enjoyed it a lot, music, pit stops, all round fun.
I went Chicago, Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Indiana, New Jersey (ew) & New York. Chi-town sausages from Portillos was so good, deep pan chicago pizza, NY Pizza, Wisconsin cheese, food in general was amazing in america.
I really wanna go Florida someday, I hear the Universal Studios is pretty dank there, the beaches in Miami as well. Maybe go Cali especially north, Yosemite park looks nice, or Arizona for hiking or something. I'll try next year. Maybe Oregon as well, pretty hipster place I hear. You never know Philadelphia is right around the corner ;)
Marijuana Dispensers were great too, I usually go for Indica, for the calm soothing feel.
Fun fact. I started watching One Piece on my birthday all those years ago. Little did I know how great of a gift that would end up being. That's kinda what my DB rewatches have been like and why I've seen Z more times according to the tally. There are lots of parts of DB that I've seen just as many times. But I'm only counting the ones I went start to finish with. I was watching HxH (1999) so many times from 2002-2007 that I knew every music cue for certain episodes lol. I guess I just have a fascination with knowing things inside and out. Which is probably why I'm a big list guy in general. I like knowing and keeping track of things. I want to know the answer to something when a thought pops in my head. Which is why I have all of my anime start and end dates all the way back to the year 2000. So yeah, I love rewatching stuff and getting to know them better.
A Robert Mitchum avatar and Hitchcock/Lumet in your top favorites. You're speaking my language here.
You're watching just in time to hit up the new movie (which looks incredible) when it drops next year. So glad the whole crew and staff is coming back after all this time. Ryo is the fucking man and can do no wrong. Loved in one of the earliest eps when he shot through his hand like a total badass. But then he's screaming in agony heh. Lifting up skirts one minute and shooting out tires the next. It's one of the first series that comes to mind when I think about the 80's. The first ED theme "Get Wild" has one of the best lead ins ever.
That's one of the first times I've seen someone echo my sentiments on that. There is nothing I enjoy more than rewatching my favorites. The truly great ones never get old and just get better with time. This blog post is updated for the most part. Speaking of City Hunter, I need to finish off my third viewing. Gotta watch 3 and 91 soonish.
One Piece is my most lopsided rewatch as well since I started following it in 2003. So I've seen the earlier parts way more times. I haven't gotten around to rewatching anything from Thriller Bark and beyond yet though. So that's probably where I'll pick up from whenever I get the urge. I have the current arc stocking up as we speak. Guess that will be done early next year at some point.
Funny enough, I have the same type of list on hand already.

Went to like 7 states for just about three weeks for vacation, I wanted to be there for longer (hopefully forever)
Damn right. I see you just joined my club as well heh.
City Hunter, huh? Well there aren't many better in my view. City Hunter 2 was the peak since it had the most multi part episodes. Lots of fun ahead. Aw yeah!
Your rewatch tally stands out. We're a rarity in that regard.
