On Tuesday February 14, 2017 my brother, who you know as "Mundt", finally lost his long battle with cancer.
Any comments are welcome, but please be respectful. Thank you.

Tamamo-chan highly recommends listening to this whilst browsing Goushujin-sama's profile, because shoegaze is her fave...
About Me
My name is Mundt and I live in the Northeastern United States. I'm pretty old.
My first anime was Star Blazers (Uuchu Senkan Yamato), circa 1980 (or so),
which was the impetus for my infatuation with animation of all types.
I used to watch...well... anything, really,
but I've become a bit more discriminating in the last few years...
That being said, I'm not really an Elitist, but sadly, I resemble one.
I appreciate anime that are stylistically brave, clever dialogue, and complexity.
I eschew tropeyness, unoriginality, plotholes, and poor characterization.
A single character can carry a whole show for me-- or ruin it.
I really don't do battle shounen; I am far from the demographic.
Sometimes a show just simply doesn't work for me at all. (i.e. Death Note) Occasionally an anime I should hate does. Inexplicably.
Life is crazy like that.
I also enjoy cars, racing, and music (preferably made with actual instruments).
I played guitar in a metal band for several years, but can't anymore because life sucks.
I don't do LNs, VNs, or much manga... just anime. I do like books, though.
Recent health issues have given me plenty of spare time, and TV is poop.
Hence, here I am, catching up on anime... because I hate myself.
I'd like to get to know people before adding them, but I'm always happy to chat,
assuming it's in a civil, mature manner, if such a thing still exists on the interwebs.
I don't use 10s so 5 is a legitimate mean score. Deal with it.
Favorites are in no particular order.
If an anime has sequels, then the whole series is a favorite (except Eva Rebuilds, lol).
Manga favorites are anime favorites, too, if applicable.
Yes... with a few exceptions, I've read some questionable manga. I'm well aware.
When I was just out of high school, I worked at a small market in town that was owned by an Indian family which sat adjacent to a small pub/restaurant. The family often ate dinner in the store, right behind the counter, as there was no break room. Being strictly vegetarians, they did things with vegetables that looked like puke, usually smelled like feet and I found completely unpalatable. Now on cool evenings we'd leave the front door open for the breeze and the delicious smell of roasting meat from the nearby pub would waft in, making my mouth water and my stomach rumble. However, every time one of the family walked by the door they would scrunch their noses with a grimace and shake their heads, they found the smell of meat that repulsive. I asked them if they'd ever tried a steak despite the religious restrictions as they were absolutely delicious and they admitted they had, and it made them want to vomit, disgusted by everything from the smell to the texture to the flavor, and would never try it again under any circumstances.
So, who is right? Who has the better taste? No one.
Taste is purely subjective and there is no right or wrong.
In other words, stop being so insecure and get over yourselves because, you know what? Everyone is different.
What you deem a masterpiece, I may beg to differ.
Scores are meaningless, subjective things, and opinions are like assholes: everyone has one.
I refuse to argue over who has the better asshole.
