Guide to my rating method (notes on my odd application on 10s):
The most important detail will likely make the rest of this explanation easier. I award 10 (Masterpiece) with emphasis on the "Masterpiece" aspect, generally disregarding the objective considerations of the 10-point scale.
I often associate Masterpiece with the concept of a "classic" or major "influential" work. Thus, I have a very clear criteria for awarding my 10s.
-Generaly, the anime must be at least ten years old
-I award only a maximum of two 10s per year
-The work must be highly/originally influential, a literal "masterpiece", and/or surpass the literary or artistic qualities of anime of the time
-I rate anime differently at first, and it doesn't impact the awarding of the 10 later on. An anime with an objective rating of 5 might get a 10 later from me.
Essentially, I grade all my anime on a 9-point scale, with 9 being perfect short of the "Masterpiece" qualities listed above.
As a general rule, I believe all anime have a purpose and each have their own purposeful qualities. Given that, I only award 1s to anime which, objectively, serve no purpose whatsoever (on informative, entertainment, or other values). Generally, recap/summary episode/ovas are the only ones to receive the ground-raking number.
I have actually watched the greek version when I was 5 years old, and today I watched it again to remember it better! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2v9mI57tMgE
Having reading your review, I will also agree that the ending was totally anti-climactic - so much that it ruined the whole movie! I also agree that the characters should have been developed more! If it wasn't for it's ''nostalgia'' value I may have rate it lower!
Nevertheless, it was still entertraining (for its era) and I also recommend it to those who are seeking rarities or a just a good old anime to watch on their free time!
I should look if I could find the english version anywhere online...
Mr Panda! This is Jason from No-Lyfe Productions. I have been on a mad hunt to track down our old parodies,. I did find I had The Adjusters and promptly put it up on youtube, but I would love to do the same for the rest. Do you have copies of it? Maybe a file that could be shared? Or maybe you could post them to youtube as well? That would be amazing! Leave a message through youtube if you have information! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Owdd-GRhY5w&feature=share&list=UU0KwBsAGSesMZy8iEZzjRhA
Yeah, I graduated from college quite a while ago but I still like to hang around the newer generations just to make myself feel young again lol. But yeah, thanks again and feel free to stay in touch with whatever you may be working on too!
Thanks for accepting friend request!
I recently joined your Fan Parody Panic page and it was good to see I'm not the only parody maker on here!
Feel free to check out my channel/spread it around if you want since I know we'd love more exposure (esp. from the college aged otaku demographic, which i see you are also a part of a University board/forum?)
Anyways, thanks again and hope ya get a lol outta our work!
Things are OK, I guess. I devote most of my MAL time to C&C these days, and we are having a discussion on how K-ON is better than LOGH for some reason.
Hopefully nobody is taking that discussion too seriously.
