I've been watching anime since I was a kid, I've tried and enjoyed content from all genres but I dislike shounen-ai and yaoi.
I have no problem watching both high-level complex stories and zany comedies, shounen and shojo, what is really important to me is that the work has personality, the story is coherent, the idea original or even old but well developed.
The characters, events and dialogues either have to be believable or extremely outlandish, I hate middle ground.
For the graphics, I don't expect an animation of extreme quality, but I want to be able to distinguish the male characters from the female ones (more and more difficult) and in this regard I generally can't stand the "doll" style in which any character has the same traits and body structure with different hair and color, regardless of gender, age and attitudes.
Recently I look at fewer and fewer new projects, I think that unfortunately over the years we have traded the quality of the narration and the characterization for a bland and anonymous "better" graphic quality and cringey overdrama trying to force reactions not properly built. That's why I'm rediscovering a lot of old anime closer to my tastes.
I'm open to suggestions and reccomendations ~
