Overview
-I've been watching anime since 2015-2016
-I particularly look for (and enjoy) media that excels in creativity and character writing
-I prefer Science Fiction, but I'm open to pretty much all forms of storytelling (though I harbor a slight disdain for romantic comedies)
-I try to be more objective than subjective in my ratings and reviews, though there are some instances where my bias is clear; my rating system can be found below
-I take pretty much any anime or manga recommendation (and will eventually get around to all of them), so you can leave one in the comments if you want
-I accept friend requests in most cases, and will send one if I respect the opinion of the person in question
Notable factors influencing my ratings:
-Creativity, Characters, World Building, Internal Consistency, Re-watch Value, Emotional Weight, Intellectual Value
-Things I give a 9 and 10 to usually resonate with me profoundly, which in many cases allows me to forgive a certain amount of shortcomings.
-I'll be harsher with things that have a great idea and fail in execution, leading things to sometimes have a score dramatically below site average rating
10 (Superb): Few if any flaws; a near perfect example of the story it aims to be, or ends up being.
9 (Awesome): Pretty damn good. I love this, but it isn't without a few flaws or issues that curb some of my enthusiasm.
8 (Excellent): Closer to a 7 than a 9, I give things an 8 when they go a little above and beyond; generally enjoyable.
7 (Good): It's pretty solid overall, but either it's not too outstanding, or some serious holdups prevent me from scoring it higher
6 (Slightly above Average): It's alright. Some good moments, enough to set it apart, but it isn't particularly interesting and I doubt I'd return to it
5 (Average): Middle of the pack; a fairly balanced composition of positives and negatives. Value is adjusted as I get through more media
4 (Slightly below Average): Not good, but contains a fair bit of worthwhile content mixed in with the bad
3 (Bad): A pretty terrible show. A few highlights are the only thing keeping this from being a 2
2 (Awful): A truly terrible piece of media, where no matter what good is within it, a significant collection of flaws consistently cast their shadow over it, ultimately leaving me with a sour taste in my mouth
1 (Complete Failure): This fails at everything it is and tries to be. I haven't seen anything bad enough to qualify for this rating as of writing this
