As you can see I love cats, sleeping and music. Therefore, the trio in one perfect profile picture
🎶Welcome to the profile of a german otaku who is a big fan of horror!🎶
Jazz is love, Jazz is life 🎷
Detective films (especially the noir ones) and Jazz Cafés are my absolute favourites
I'm a big fan of music and listen to many genres, though I especially like classic, rock n roll, gregorian chants and of course jazz.
Here are a couple of my favourites :
Classic : Beethoven (Moonlight Sonata, Sonata Nr. 5 in C-Minor, Ode to joy, Pathétique), Mozart (Lacrimosa, Eine kleine Nachtmusik, Overture to don Giovanni, Rondo alla Turca), Liszt (Hungarian Rhapsody Nr. 2, La Campanella, Liebestraum No. 3, Der Doppelgänger), Chopin (Heroic Polonaise in Ab major, Minute Waltz, Waltz in E minor, Nocturne in Eb major, Nocturne in C# minor, Nocturne in Bb minor, Fantasie Impromptu, Winter Wind), Rachmaninoff (Little Red Riding Hood, Prelude in C# Minor, Prelude in G Minor), Brahms (Hungarian Dance Nr. 5, Lullaby Op. 49 N.4, Waltz Op. 39 Nr. 15), Dvořák (Serenade for strings E major), Grieg (Hall of the Mountain King), Shostakovich (Waltz Nr. 2), Mendelssohn (Concerto in E Minor, Paulus Oratorium, String Quartet in F minor, String Quartet in A minor), Paganini (Caprices 1-24, God save the king, Dance of the witches, Molto perpetuo), Tchaikovsky (Dance of the sugar plum fairy, Swan lake, Piano Concerto 1, March of the toy soldiers, Canons :D), Prokofiev (Dance of the knights), Bach (Prelude in G major, Fugue in D minor, Keyboard concerto in D minor)
Gregorian Chants : Kyrie Orbis Factor/Kyrie IX cum Jubilo/Messe cum Jubile: Kyrie Eleison/Kyrie XI, Terra Tremuit, Salve Regina, Deus Misertus, Requiem: Lux Aterna, Libera me Domine, Ave Maria, Salva Sancte Parents, Victime Pascali Laudes, Jubilate Deo, Miserere Mei Deus
Jazz: Frank Sinatra (New York, That's a life, Let it Snow, Fly me to the Moon, If you go away), Nat King Cole (Orange colored Sky, L-O-V-E, Smile, Fly me to the Moon, Stardust), Louis Armstrong (What a wonderful world, Go Down Moses, Cheek to Cheek, Blueberry Hill, St. James' Infirmary, Moonlight in Vermount), Scott Joplin (Maple Leaf Rag, The Entertainer, Weeping Willow, basically every other rag he wrote), Michael Bublé (Feelin' Good, Moondance, The Way You Look Tonight, Christmas Album, It's a beautiful day, You'll never find a love like mine, Cry me a river), Trombone Shorty (he plays newer versions of old songs on a trombone or trumpet), Arturo Sandoval (A Night in Tunisia, Funky Cha-Cha-Cha, The Jazz Police, other trumpet performances), The Andrews Sisters (many performances, though I really like their collaborations with other singers like Danny Kane), Ella Fitzgerald (Let's do it, Cry me a river, Blue skies, It's too darn hot, Moonlight in Vermont), Grover Washington Jr. (Winelight Album), Todd Gordon (Alone again naturally), John Coltrane (My favourite things, Autumn leaves, Coltrane plays the blues), Duke Ellington (It don't mean a thing),🎺Chet Baker, my one and only number one🎺 (Don't Explain, I fall in love too easily, Almost Blue, Let's Get Lost)
Rock n Roll is a new addition, thus my horizon isn't that wide yet. Elvis Presley and Dion sound very nice tho, they're probably gonna be the top candidates.
Then there are the countless video game soundtracks, serie and film OST's (Taxi driver is such a masterpiece), electronic music (D&B, Dubstep, House and City Pop). My music taste is very varied, and there are only two genres I dislike: Rock/Metal and Rap (Especially those horrible modern german raps. Germany has such a rich musical history, why ruin it with shit?)
Of course this is not everything, only the very best :)
Great stuff I'd recommend
Gintama (Anime): Absolutely hilarious, probably the best comedy besides The Office
Petshop of Horrors (Anime and Manga): I was a fan of this franchise the second I've seen the anime. The manga is great as well. It only has 40 chapters and 4 episodes, so a quick read/watch
Cossette no Shozou (Anime): Gothic horror can be amazing if done correctly. Here is a perfect example for it
Solo Leveling (Manhwa and Light Novel): In many ways a typical fantasy-game read, but it is quite superior to the rest of this genre
Your Throne (Manhwa): You want to see 2 completely different noble woman fight for and against each other? Here you go
Jujutsu Kaisen (Anime):My favourite shonen of 2020. Nothing original with the story, but the art and characters make up for it
The Climber (Manga): An interesting psychological seinen with amazing art
Kenja no Ishi (Manga): Another (sort of) gothic horror. Art is the same as in Petshop of Horrors
Uzumaki (Manga): Now this is definitely not for everyone, because this manga is downright nuts. However, if you like insanity, horror, gore and amazing art, you will be blown away by Junji Ito's work
For anyone interested, here is mine, though it's not much different from other users.
10, The "Godlike" Tier One of the best, if not the best shows I have ever seen in my life. A special condition for this ranking is that the show can't be about a cliché topic, like isekai for example (Clannad: After Story is the only exeption I'll ever make). Would recommend it to anyone and rewatch it gladly
Monster
Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu
Clannad: After Story
9, The "Awesome" Tier Amazing and excellently executed shows. They had one or two flaws that prevented them from getting higher. Some of the lesser known titles also made it to this rating because they hold a special place in my heart. Would recommend it to anyone
Inazuma Eleven
Initial D
Perfect Blue
8, The "Great" Tier Shows that I really enjoyed. The aspects of it are all exceeding good, however not as much as to give it even higher ratings
Elfen Lied
Another
Hunter x Hunter
7, The "Nice" Tier Still one of the better animes out there, despite their (unfortunately) stronger flaws. Recommendation would still follow
Code Geass
Demon Slayer
Blood +
6, The "Okay" Tier These shows have potential, yet it isn't fully realized and thus just "better than most"
Blood C
Nanatsu no Taizai
Overlord
5, The "Average" Tier The middle. Not good, not bad. From this point on no longer recommended
Sword Art Online
Prison School
Ghost Hunt
4, The "Meh" Tier Shows whose bad aspects outweigh the good ones. It's not terrible, but definitely not good either
One Piece
Kuzu no Honkai
Devilman: Crybaby
3, The "Shit" Tier These are simply put bad. I've had a hard time watching and trying not to sleep through it
Ichigo 100%
Ajin
Domestic na Kanojo
2, The "So bad it's good" Tier Terrible shows that are only worth watching for the memes. They have 1, maybe 2 redeeming qualities or at least some sort of ironic entertainment
Boruto
Itou Junji: Collection
Ijiranaide Nagatoro-san
1, The "Worst of the Worst" Tier Stay the hell away from these horrible abominations! Would recommend them to people I absolutely despise and wish for their suffering
Ex Arm
Ninja Collection
Utsu Musume Sayuri
I rarely give out 10's because there are very, very few absolutely mindblowing animes. Same goes for 1's. Many animes are pure garbage, but I always try to find at least one redeeming quality, so it won't get the worst rating possible.
well, I have lots of games I like. I mostly have played games that got released before around 2013, bcuz my PC is shit.. but it gets the job done ig. ill list down a few of my favourites.
Skyrim
Bioshock
Splinter Cell (played all of them except blacklist)
Call of Duty (played all the titles till Black ops 2)
Assassins Creed (till Rogue)
GTA
Prince of Persia
well, those are the titles that come to my mind immediately. ah, and I usually don't play multiplayer cuz, well network problems.
i'd love to hear about ur favourite games as well.
hmm, my English is kinda bad. so cut me some slack. ^^
Many people don’t like it but it’s an enjoyable read to me. Really nice biblical references. Also here are some of his short stories that I enjoy reading: Layers of Fear, The Enigma of Amigara Fault, The Bully, Black Bird, House of the Marionettes. And are you looking forward to new Uzumaki anime? I’ve got high hope this time, since the director is really good at making anime with surreal atmosphere (Mushishi, Aku no Hanu,…)
P.s: Recently I’ve read Stephen King. Do you read him?
Yes The Long Dream and The Hanging Balloons are both great. I love their surreal atmosphere. What do you think about Hellstar Remina? I quite like its religious themes.
