Hey to everyone bored enough to have come to my profile!
I guess I'm just your average german university student, who only recently rediscovered his love for anime, which is why my "Completed" list is so short and my "Plan to Watch" list so long. However, I'm doing my best to change this deplorable state... probably even now, while you are reading this :D. Genre-wise, I'm not really picky - I enjoy all kinds of shows independant of the bounds of specific genres, although I do tend to enjoy intelligent series with room for interpretation and at least some artistic quality/ claim the most. If you want to discuss any specific series with me, feel free to leave a comment, I always enjoy talking to like-minded people.
Anyways... for the moment, there is not much more to say, but be sure to drop by from time to time, because though currently this may not look like much, I'm planning on making this quite the nice profile (especially my anime list)... as soon as I find the time :D.
To conclude this makeshift self-introduction, let me provide you with some insight into my obsucre and bewildering anime rating-system, which I don't even begin to understand myself:
"10": A genre-transcending masterpiece in a league of its own (though mind you, this doesn't entail perfection!). A show, that captivated me and resonated within me for weeks/ months after watching it.
Prime example: Bakemonogatari
"9": A truly brilliant piece of work, which got me invested in it in a similar way. However, there was some tiny aspect missing for it to earn the perfect score. In the end, its minute differences that decide between a "9" and a "10".
Prime example: Mushishi
"8": A show, which i thoroughly enjoyed. There is nothing wrong with it nor bad about it. It kept me at the edge of my seat, it just didn't pack the final punch to push me over it and blow me away.
Prime example: Baccano
Alternatively: a show, which for the most part deserved one of the top ratings, but suffered from one or more flaws preventing me from rating it as such.
"7": A mixed, though largely positive viewing experience, typically leaving me somewhat dissatisfied. Though there may be some parts I did not like, I can see why people enjoy this show and acknowledge its appeal.
Prime example: Mononoke Hime
"6": A mixed viewing experience with somewhat larger proportions I did not enjoy. Depending on its length, I may or may not have finished this.
Prime example: Black Rock Shooter
Alternatively: a rather bland show overall without many outstanding qualities.
Prime example: Arakawa under the Bridge
"5-1": Different variations of awful, where a "5" means a bearly passable show and a "1" something I wouldn't even go within a 100 mile radius of, if my life was on the line for it. For the meaning of the numbers in between, go figure.
Aaaand here you have the amazing results of this rating-system as of now (which of course are uncontestable and the only correct ratings):
And thats it from me, have a wonderful day everyone! Ja neeee!
El Psy Congroo!
