Yeah, it covered the first two novels. And the first two and a half are absolute trash. It was trying to mislead people away so not many people would know about them. I don't know why they did this but I guess that's their take :P. Too bad the anime only gave itself ten episodes so it couldn't get to the good part.

People like Izayoi because of the light novels.

Code Geass (&R2 implied), Ano Hana, Steins;Gate, Shinsekai Yori, Clannad After Story, Darker than Black, Fate Zero(& S2 implied), Gankutsuo, Mongoatari Series: SS, Mawaru Penguindrum, Death Note, Durarara!, Bakemonogatari, Nagi no Asukara, Zetsuen no Tempest, Mushishi(Zoku Shou implied 1&2 implied), & Shiki.

Always intend to see Baccano, Monster, TTGL, Rainbow, HunterxHunter, Mirai Nikki, Welcome to the NHK, Rurouni Kenshin, Cowboy Bebop, Hyouka, Trigun, Phantom, & Toradora. (i expect multiple of these to also make my top 35 all time)

Kuroko & Psycho Pass for me are great, but just miss out (both inside my top ~50 or so) While Magi is around ~80 for me.

I think having jojo's bizzare adventure in your top 40 is by far the most displaced, especially considering it over series like Durarara!, & Death Note, but you probably have one of the most respectable favourites lists i've yet to come across. (Surely, Still wondering where is Full Metal Alchemist tho lol)
