Awwww Im glad you remember mee. Yes it has been such a long time since I logged in but im also glad you are still here too. I have been meaning to start monogatari series for the longest time so I might actually start it soon. I havent watched anime in a long time since I stuck up with the mangas but I might start it again with monogatari series so thank you for recommending. Okay let's talk about Death Note .. I watched it like over a decade ago? I was a kid but I was in love with the concept!
I remember everything about it just like OP & Naruto .. But unlike these two, I finished Death Note & I hated the ending
So when I started watching anime again, I had 0 interest in stating Death Note!
And just as I expected, I still hated the ending 😩 I read somewhere that DN was supposed to end after L's death
But he was kinda forced to keep going because fans wanted more. The 2nd half was just weak in comparison to the 1st half!
They just knew who light is immediately which was not satisfying at all .. N was a copy L & Mellow was a copy of Light 😩

The older version of Fruits Basket holds a dear place in my heart cause it was the first anime that I watched with Japanese dubbing 🥹
The comedy is so much better & it focused on the romance the most. Different vibes from the manga.
Even though the manga was still being published when they made the anime, it felt like a completed romantic comedy anime & had a good ending! They adapted the right amount of chapters.
However, the remake had the same vibes as the mange and tackled every aspect of the story especially the curse thing
So I think you can start with the newer version. And maybe watch the older one next year if you are okay with the older art style! Some people like my friend couldn't!
I love both versions too much 😭💗 The last season was full of emotions & I think everyone cried

No problem, I agree with you on how the Monogatari Series handles its presentation so well.

People often criticize exposition scenes or "too much dialogue" because 1) they're really hard to write and 2) a lot of writers tend to do them horribly and thus cheapen the dramatic articulation by simply "telling" you the scene. But by no means is "too much dialogue" an automatic sin. Exposition and conveying constant information are critical to a story. Good stories, like the Monogatari Series as we mentioned, are great at imbuing it or even hiding it within the conflict between characters who are arguing and creating compelling scenes.
