♦︎About Me
I’m a 26 year old Argentine man. I study Law and work in that field, which is something that brings me bliss, given that I have always taken interest in Justice and understanding the way society works.
I'm quite social and usually spend my time hanging out with my girlfriend and friends. I love watching movies, series and anime. Some other hobbies include: reading and doing exercise. I’m also into politics, social justice, activism and I'm left wing.
My MBTI is ENFJ.
♠︎Anime & MAL
I started watching anime in 2013 and joined MAL in 2015. I guess what I like the most about anime is encountering such original and creative storylines I don’t usually see in western fiction, plus, it is a creative visual art form which helps escape reality. Regarding this website, I really love the way it is designed, giving the opportunity not only to keep track of animes but also reviewing them, sharing opinions and thoughts in forums, and getting to know new people.
Every now and then I participate in forums because, like in real life and other websites, I can’t keep opinions to myself and enjoy exchanging thoughts.
However, as much as I like anime, I can't stand the stereotypical otakus. On this site I’ve been called elitist and SJW more than once but I won’t apologize for having actual standards or values. I simply think you can like turning off your brain and consuming something passively, that’s valid and I believe everyone does it, but there’s more to any piece of fiction than just that. Therefore, I think there’s nothing wrong with being critical with what you consume, or with pointing out when something is retrograde or morally wrong.
If you are interested in hearing my thoughts in any anime just leave a comment or DM me!
♥︎Taste
My favorite genres are Psychological, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Drama and Slice of Life, these are the ones that have always called my attention the most, what changed over the years were my standards so several animes which were among my favorites when I was 16 are now lowly scored, but in the other hand I’ve also appreciated some shows much more as I grew up. I'm also a sucker for battle royals (elimination/ survival games).
I'm not into Shounens because I find most of them stereotypical and shallow, and Shoujos aren't of my appeal either as I think they are way too melodramatic and honeyed, but there are exceptions in both cases. I despise Ecchi and Fanservice, I’m utterly disgusted by them.
I have never seen any of the long popular anime, such as Naruto, One Piece or Fairy Tail, etc. and I never will.
The anime I watch aren't too long so I usually finish them even if they are bad, but if they are way too boring or insufferable I don't.
If you are fan of movies, you can check my letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/IMoonyI/
My favorite non-anime tv shows are: Anne with an E, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Big Little Lies, Black Mirror, Dexter and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
My favorite visual novels are: Danganronpa 1 & 2 and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
♣︎Rating & Recommending
When rating I take into account:
Story, Characters, Dialogue, Enjoyment, Animation and Sound.
Every single one of these elements is important and serves a purpose. I consider the story to be the body of every product, while the characters being the heart, these elements are essential aspects of a show so they have to be well done and developed in order to obtain a good score. When it comes to dialogue, I believe the way the writers choose to communicate something is crucial, the same point or message can come across as either deep or pretentious, touching or inane depending on the words chosen. Regarding the enjoyment, I think it’s actually important to have a good time while watching something, but sometimes you may encounter an anime which may not be the most entertaining but still is marvelous as a whole, and in the other hand you may have fun watching something while still acknowledging that it isn't actually very good. Animation is one of the core things that sets anime apart from other pieces of media, and is also one of the elements people pay more attention to; I appreciate the beauty and technique of it a lot but I believe one can see something great even when animation isn't marvelously done and I think relying solely on this, which is something common in anime, isn’t enough to get a good score. The sound helps to build up the atmosphere and immerse someone, lots of people overlook it and don’t realize how much it helps to deliver some special moments.
I recommend everything between 7-10, however there are some pretty enjoyable anime with slower scores that may be entertaining but have some other major flaws.
I use the tagg "Highly Recommended" for the very best shows I've seen, which include some 9s and every 10, these are all a must watch.
In my list you can find a brief comment on every anime I've watched and tags that help labeling them.

Anyways I am really glad that I managed to make you go and re-watch it and as a result changing the image of the show a bit from your perspective as a fan I can't be happier.(maybe I am wrong about the" I managed to make you go" thing but hey you did rewatched it that's all what matters). For me, the ominous atmosphere being gradually brought up to the setting while proceeding with a slow buring mystery that has a constantly increasing eeriness around was the major plus point and was one of the things that got me balls deep into the show in the first place(it was all about the feeling that something is not quite right about all of this, as the dread increases, some things come up to the surface and the thing finally.... happens). So I am really glad that that aspect of the show struck you the way it did with me.
And as far as I agree with all of the positive points stated, I also agree with all of your negative points about the series as well but still I will defend Misaki's actions here; yes, she didn't said a word about the 'first death' cause she was well aware of the fact that once it's begun it cannot be stopped and followed along the talisman hoping that it might work somehow (which it offcourse didn't) but telling it to the class wouldn't had done anything good theoretically. The actual problem that I found was the fact that Izumi didn't brought up anything to Koichi the first time she met him. (which feels more understandable in the novel as there Izumi didn't even went to the hospital to meet Koichi and the other two weren't the incharge of counter measures so didn't brought it up either and before they could he was already interacting with Mei)
And yeah I agree a slow buring mystery like another needs more time to properly open and proceed with everything like character development, uncovering the mystery and other stuff which the show was actually pulling off quite well but the pacing issues near the middle kinda ruined that( which began after kubidera's suicide; like the entire beach episode....it wasn't even in the novel) and it became worse at the end.
Yeah madoka really deserves a mention here because that's just an example of how one can do world building, develop characters and play with a lot of different themes but still in a short time end it flawlessly and have an impact of just a grandiose magnitude.(btw I love Madoka).
Also regarding the end......I don't really have anything to say or argue about here cause it's just bad let's not hide this fact and I read in the novel yes it could had been so much better but you know what I love Another for just what it is.
I'll make a reply regarding your latest message later today and sorry about the delay again.
Also tell me what are you watching as of now!!?
Yeah I haven't played the visual novel yet but I am planning to soon and I have heard it's atmospherically even more Erie than the anime. So how is it so far!!?? Also try to check out the light novel adaptation of higurashi Ponce you have the time it's freakin awesome dude I've got the entire series and I just love it in this medium as well. And I've also heard amazing things about the manga series from a friend.
Also this really came out as a surprise that you play visual novels..........props bro👍👍👍. Seriously you don't find fellow visual novel players everyday so it's really nice to hear about that.
I am also currently this visual novel called Chaos;child from the science adventure series (that includes steins;gate, Chaos;head, etc) and so far it's just amaaaaazing, definitely a perfect recommendation to sci-fi lovers.
I see so that's how it is!!......... Just keep watching. I haven't watched it yet but my brother did and he said the show was just perfect so let's see how it will go for ya.
Anyways have you ever played a key game!!??
Now as for the explanation as to why I think Shinsekai Yori is one of the most(nearly the most) ground breaking things I've ever seen; a good show is comprised of a blend of excellent character writing, brilliant pacing, overall setting and plot, how the story flows keeping up the theme atmosphere all around the show, and personal enjoyment.(offcourse there are many more elements than this but I guess these right here decide whether one will enjoy or not in general). Shinsekai Yori's characters aren't that memorable or well written cause they weren't made out to be like that but it's just this idea about that diastopian future human society, the concepts of its actual working, how exactly it became like this and just how much is left to explore in this man made hell, all of this just completely screwed my mind and my expectations to this show just became limitless. I mean just think about it whenever you try to picture a future human society you think of really advanced technology, machinary just coming in use every second of life and just a civilized society that isn't made to control anyone leaving everyone to their free wills but just the imagination of the future by the author of Shinsekai Yori(yuusuke kishi) is something that I don't think anyone would ever ever imagine even in their wildest dreams and just thinking about it spends down shivers in my spine that this story is actually written by a human being. All of this accompanied by a sheer god level of story progression which takes up on various plot threads introduced on the go and just execute them when necessary and not subtly.
And to top it all off; All of this large scale world building (which carries on like through the entity of show) in not a dark fantasy thing or something, it clearly has a 100 percent of science basis(aka a sci-fi) which makes a 1000 times more understandable setting and occurances of this world become really realistic and seems like to just about to happen irl.(at least for a sci-fi fan like me)
Now I can go on and on about how this show is technically best in the world or something but what I mostly wanna say about the show is all here(at least 60 percent cause there is so much to talk about this show) and I don't wanna make this too long before I even start talking about other stuff.
Overall Shinsekai Yori is a beautiful show and that's it.
Well first of all, that's a lot to manage your way through and it's really admirable to say the least that even after that you still manage to give some time to this little common hobby of ours. Anyways good luck and I really hope that you achieve what you are aiming for in life.
As for me I am aiming to clear my entrance exams that are coming, I am aiming to become an engineer btw(aeronautic based) and everything just seems to be working out quite well.
Yeah please do, even though a mystery series is at its best when watching for the first time in the second watch however one is able to concentrate more on the story's execution, character writing and overall narrative quality of the show, and as for me who has rewatched another more than 2 times I gotta say that it's replay value is really good and overtime it just becomes better for me. I focused on the above-mentioned points while re-watching other brilliantly written and paced mystery shows like higurashi, Shinsekai Yori, etc and trust me you are gonna love these types of shows even more that way.
Also this might be a hot take but I think that Shinsekai Yori is THE best sci-fi series of all time, you can quote me on that if you want and I would be happy to defend.
Ahh... Actually I am typing this late at night so I am really sorry if there is anything like that can be comprehended offensive.😘😘
Also....... that's some really harsh judge you are being to odd taxi ther.
(Oh I guess the reply came out to be pretty long, huh!!??)
How it's going!!??
