It is great. The question is where this will stop? How popular could VTubers get? Will their rise in popularity hit a ceiling soon or will it just keep growing as time goes on? Auditions for gen 2 of Hololive EN are taking place and I think the expansion of EN could only do good for the globalization of VTubers. Sadly, I'm not getting too much time to spend on Hololive recently, but at least I know that I definitely won't run out of archived streams to watch once my internet situation is stable again XD

I'm also very far behind on Gura's minecraft, unfortunately. But also many collabs that I'm behind on... Feels sad...
The feeling of being involved is one of the biggest factors for the appeal behind VTubers, I think, so it is just more evidence that these "idols" were chosen with the correct talents in mind. I find it impressive that they could all be so unique and also so entertaining.

I completely agree. The escalating stakes problem is quite a big one, so long-running shows need to be rather well-thought out ahead of time to avoid it. Although some fans might get a little bored if lives aren't at stake in the first arc, so it is a tough crowd to please XD

Precisely, what if the same happens to me? I'll need to finish it anyway, even if I get bored XD And there will be almost 300 episodes more to go at that point... That's a lot of time to be watching a show that you might not like...

Fair enough. I'm actually not watching any of the airing sequels, I'm waiting for all of them to finish and then I will have to squirm to try and watch them all XD I also want to rewatch Yuru Camp S1 before I get to watching the second season, even though I know it isn't necessary, I just enjoyed the relaxed tone it has XD

There certainly is a level of appeal to Okayu's voice, being rather different to most of the other girls'. Speaking of Okayu, you might know more than me, how deep does the 'lore' between Okayu and Korone go? There's a fair amount of shipping within the Hololive community and since I've seen them as a main ship, I thought I could ask what you think of shipping as a whole and how deep Okayu's and Korone's interactions go? I'm always up for some wholesome interactions... Moona being too scared to approach Pekora and then being talked into it by Iofi and having a completely successful and heartwarming collab despite the language barrier is one of the things that strike my dark, little heart very deep XD

Today I feel like pretending that I’m a music reviewer, so I might as well give you an intermediate update on your song recommendations – on the exciting Xenoblade songs, to be exact:

Gaur Plains is a mesmerizing composition with many beautiful, neatly intertwined melodies. Fairly up-tempo, but somehow also calming to listen to. Normally I’d complain about how there isn’t enough variation to justify the song being stretched out to 8 minutes, but this one honestly keeps my interest even after multiple repeats of the same song segments. I’m more mixed when it comes to the next two songs. I actually love soft/loud dynamics, but in Engage the Enemy they feel kind of… forced? That midway passage (1:38 – 2:26) is incredible, though. Also, I don’t know what it is with me and symphonic metal, but I can’t really get into You Will Know Our Names. I’ll jam to one guitar riff and then dislike the next one. One specific thing I noticed is that the sound of the drums bothers me every time they are accentuated, their production is very flat and muddy. The End Lies Ahead threads the fine line between ‘overly bombastic composition’ and ‘memorable epic’, but for now I’m inclined to put it on the positive side of that spectrum. It sounds very triumphant for most of its runtime, but also takes a step back for some gentle, touching passages when it counts.

So Hunter x Hunter withdrawal is a condition with relapses and intermittent periods of improvement, huh? You'd think it would be done after one period of feeling unmotivated to watch new shows xD. What do you mean with 'weekly shows' btw, seasonals probably?

"m e n like that" I would take the bait and be like "So a woman like Marine Le Pen finding themselves in power would be fine?", but that's such a mediocre joke that I regret even citing it. Heck, maybe you're not even specifically referencing right-wing populism and instead talking about a different kind of culture associated with Trump. So ehhhh... YEET

Agniratha, Mechonis Capital has also grown on me, such a serene and immersive song! Opera-like singing tends to be a big hit or miss for me, but it's implemented very well here.

Ah, you're confused about the watching order of the Monogatari Series? Somebody else asked me about it as well, so I have actually uploaded what I'd consider the best watching order as a blog post. Or.. "the best".. There's actually one other way to watch it, which is a bit more complicated but gets you even closer to the light novel order. I can offer some more detailed explanation if you're interested.

My only major anime slump was in the first few months of the corona pandemic. By now, I think it'd be more accurate to say that I have just found a new rhythm to watching shows. I used to watch 2-3 of them simultaneously, but at some point it started feeling like I was forcing myself to watch multiple shows at once. Now, taking it slow is more enjoyable to me because I have more time for Youtube videos, music and other stuff.

It's really wild to think that a country that many people in Europe used to look up to (never agreed with this position, but that's another story xD) would get a president posing an incredible threat to democracy and riling up his supporters to try and nullify the outcome of an election... Yeah, I totally get feeling apathy towards society at large; even for countries that receive positive attention for more legitimate reasons, I think the conclusion will be "yeah, looking into it these countries are still pretty shit in some ways" xD *cough* the Netherlands *cough*

I've listened to the relaxing songs from xenoblade, and they're pretty nice! Especially the first song is very beautiful. I will update you some more as I go through them.

Loving boobs in a non-sexual way, huh? Sounds interesting xD.

Actually, I'll grant you the element of wholesomeness to an extent, so a blursed phrase, I guess. Does it originate from a VTuber community or something? Finding ecchi shows where some of the girls have boob sizes within the range of normalcy is still quite easy; finding those where they are the norm instead of the exception is a lot harder, lol

Oh, yeah, I always forget series that have multiple installments. I have watched the Monogatari Series in full, which has 90 regular episodes, and then three movies and an ONA, which amount to around 6 hours (~15 episodes) of watch time. That beats Soul Eater by a long shot xD

If anything, the lack of interesting battle mechanics is what annoys me in action shounen a lot of the time, so having a clever power system that you need to pay more attention to in order to grasp it fully seems like a huge plus, honestly (even if it has to be explained somewhat meticulously). In any case, I probably won't try H x H any time soon. I'm currently taking it slow and watching one show at a time, and wouldn't want that one show to be a very long one, haha. It will have to come down to one of the holidays or other periods of time where I'd be in the mood to watch multiple shows at once.

'a stab at how dumb elections are'. That sound like a very hot (read: weird) take xD. It is, however, true that the state of electoral politics in western countries has really regressed in recent history, and the US definitely takes the cake in that respect. What is your stance here; is American politics like this broadly talked about topic that you can't really avoid even if you wanted to, or is it more so a depressing trainwreck that you can't stop watching because it's also quite intriguing? I tend towards the second myself.

Yeah, I am definitely interested, I'd love some recommendations for specific songs from those games! Also, I'm so fucking happy; every now and then my mind would keep going back to how there was this one rap song that I thought was incredibly catchy, and I finally found it again. It's Let Me Oh by e-dubble.

Yeah, Gura is already nearing 2 million subs - which is honestly insane... but not too shocking if you look at how she approaches her content.

It seemed to be a great opportunity for Kiara when that happened, because it seemed like she got a huge boost in popularity from it since they handled it perfectly with her rebirth stream and all of the memes that came from it... it might have been a good thing for her channel and her fandom.

I think that is why so many people keep calling Fubuki a cat and she plays into it a lot XD It's entertaining. At this point I'm so far behind on anything Hololive-related since I've been very occupied for some time, so there's more content than what I could possibly catch up on and that makes me sad...

I feel like making very long stories work, you pretty much need an outline of the overarching story from the beginning, because otherwise the story doesn't have the grounded feeling that it might need to keep viewers. I'm sure HxH has that XD
I think at some point my being intimidated by long shows will be outweighed by my desire to watch and be part of the popular fandoms XD So I'll watch it someday... probably...

I handle all shows that way, I'll only consider watching them once I am sure they are near their actual end. I've been recommended Fairy Tail by some friends for a long time and I kept saying that I'll only consider it once it is actually over. And now that it has been over for some time, they are still on my case about it, but it is still 328 episodes, so I'm a bit reluctant to start it anyway XD

Yeah, MHA falls into many of those kinds of traps, unfortunately...

Hell, there are so many sequels airing now that I am hyped for, Quintessential Quintuplets S2, Promised Neverland S2, Yuru Camp S2... I want to watch them all, but there are so many other things that I also want to watch that it is almost impossible to keep up :(

Unrelated: I love Fubuki's voice, by the way... It says a lot about vtubers when their major distinguishable feature is their voice and you can still pick one that has the nicest sounding voice to you XD
rishloouppy Jan 6, 2021 1:04 PM
I was more so thinking people who aren't attracted to women xD. But yeah, there are probably some boomers that view enjoying the sight of boobs in any setting that is not marriage as a sign of m o r a l d e c a d e n c e, lol

Big boobs fill your hand, small boo... alright, that's a very cursed phrase xD. I do like me some small tits sometimes; I wish there were more girls with normal length and small to medium-sized boobs in ecchi / harem shows.

Currently Soul Eater comes out on top with its 51 episodes, so H x H would also become the longest show on my list by far. Hmm, you'd go as far as calling its low points boring? Is it just downtime stuff, or do the characters have serious trouble carrying scenes where they are interacting normally? Regardless, the degree of variation does sound interesting. If I finally want to take on a long-running show at some point, H x H would probably take priority.

Some arcs are political drama, even? Sounds interesting. Speaking about political drama... *shoots an anxious glance over at the situation in the US* (Aight I have to stop with the asterisks now, it's becoming pretty cringe)

Oh, video game music? I don't play enough games to have game soundtracks I'd want to play readily available, but every now and then I listen to some Monogatari Series OST while studying. Has pretty much the same effect. I'm actually a very avid music listener, so regularly I have these music sessions where I'll just listen to a whole album attentively. Probably not many people who do that xD
rishloouppy Jan 4, 2021 12:11 PM
Nice to meet you too!

Who doesn't like boobs, you ask? *Proceeds to make a literal assessment of who wouldn't like boobs*
Apart from the sex appeal, a major reason for having put ecchi in my favourites was the sexual comedy in the ecchi shows I had watched up until then. If it's about the boobs though, I feel like the exaggeration is a bit much sometimes. I prefer shows where the girls have cup sizes within a realistic range; that's just more attractive to me.

Oh dear, me and long shows... I've considered checking out Hunter x Hunter for a really long time, but keep putting it off because of its length. Would you be able to explain what's so great about it in a non-spoilerific way? So, there's a few genres I tend to listen to: folk, indie, and a shitload of subgenres of rock music, such as alternative and prog* (and some progressive metal, even). I'm trying to listen to some other music styles as well, but broadening your tastes is definitely a gradual process, haha.
*Not sure if everyone would be familiar with this term, so just ask if I have to clarify what this genre is xD
rishloouppy Jan 1, 2021 7:58 AM
Hey hey, randomly stumbled across your profile. Another person with Steins;Gate listed as an absolute favourite, I see.

And that's a pretty interesting set of favourite genres you have. Adventure, comedy, mystery and slice of life are amongst my favourites as well. Ecchi... I used to list that as one of my preferences back in the day, but I don't really watch the genre enough to keep listing it as such and dislike some of the tropes associated with the genre. I like romance, but feel like anime doesn't do a very good job with it most of the time. Action is actually one of my least favourite genres xD

Given my timing it seems appropriate to talk about favourites from the past year, but I've seen only one anime (and a short one at that) that came out in 2020, lol. You also into music?
H31NST31N Dec 10, 2020 1:38 AM
Sorry for taking so long to respond that so much has happened in Hololive that the stuff we were discussing before are almost out of date XD

I think Gura also has a really good grasp on the media and she has the ability to make all of her streams feel really inclusive to the viewer. She also somehow manages to keep up with live chat while doing whatever it is she's doing, so I think the fact that she is so massively popular isn't too much of a shock, really. Kiara had a stream where she started teaching Gura basic japanese (I'm sure you know), so it is a step in the right direction, not exactly a practice stream, but it could lead to something like that soon. (Now that Kiara has been reborn, that is XD)

These kinds of Korone clips are always gold XD

As an update, I have a newfound love for Pekora, especially her minecraft and her subplot with Moona and their collaboration (so wholesome it had me smiling all the way through). However, my favourites from JP still remain, Fubuki - who I like even more than before - and Matsuri - who I also like even more than before. You're not the only one when it comes to Fubuki being a catgirl... At this point it seems like a running joke that the fandom calls her a catgirl and she seems to be playing along with the game, it's pretty entertaining XD
Similarly, I don't know if you followed the Hololive ID gen 2 debuts, but Reine (the Onee-san) is supposedly a peafowl who has been isekai'ed here from another world, but the fandom started calling her a turkey instead and now it stuck XD It's a nice quirk that plays into her character quite well, though, so I think she's running with it.

I feel the same when it comes to long shows.
Yeah, but it also might be a risk that the conflicts become repetitive or the characters bland. And that would be tragic if the show goes on very long, since then you'll be trapped and need to watch even if it is painfully boring. Although most of my experiences with sport anime has been positive, so it is much less the sport aspect and more the length that makes me second guess watching it. I also need to watch Yuri on Ice, but I'm in the same boat as you, it was almost all that people talked about some time ago, so I don't even know if it would be possible for me to enjoy it at all...

There will be a Demon Slayer season 2 for sure XD It's such a huge thing at the moment... I believe the manga has finished, so it might actually be possible to have this series be completed in anime format not too long from now if it keeps being this successful. I wouldn't blame you if you waited until it was close to complete before you started watching it, though.

I didn't find it spoiling at all. The only things I can think of are minor things with specific characters that you might not even notice if you don't pay attention. Although the events that occur feel just like they do in normal anime franchise movies, that they are pretty relevant, but don't seem to fit with the series' storyline very well... so it feels like a sidestory rather than an addition to the main one. Part of that might be that the things are actually spoilers and I just don't know it, but if I don't know they're spoilers, I won't be bothered by it until it comes up in a new season XD I just find it pretty dumb that they would release a movie in a time where it doesn't take place... the only reasons I could think of is that they wanted to push people to read the manga or that they really couldn't adapt any other story into a movie at all and decided to adapt it to fit here.

Yeah, there are many other characters in MHA that are far better, more interesting and more relatable. Unfortunately, we know how these characters are normally treated when compared to how the protagonists are, but we should be used to that by now XD

That video highlights some simple mistakes that combat/competition focused shows make and it is quite astounding that you still see so much of it. A simple example of combat gone wrong in non-anime is in Avengers Endgame (I don't know if you followed the MCU or even watched the movie, so we'll only talk about it if you did and you want to).

Yeah, 2021 seems to be a loaded season when it comes to sequels, so I've got a whole bunch of things to watch and rewatch before it comes around. I would also prefer to avoid pirating, but there really isn't another option for me at the moment...
You can rewatch Made in Abyss if you want to, it's short enough. Or you could just watch the movies, since they retell the story anyway. Either way, it's nice to watch.
H31NST31N Nov 8, 2020 12:07 PM
Things that are worth doing are usually a lot of work. So you're not alone in this.

I've never really tried them as a form of background noise, I usually get roped into wanting to watch what they are doing instead, but mostly I would watch them while playing another game or doing something else that isn't intensive.

Oh, I haven't seen her Hunter x Hunter opening because I haven't seen HxH yet XD I quite like Calli too, but in a similar way, I'd just rather watch Gura's streams more consistently. Calli had an english practice stream that I joined for a while just to see what it was like and it seemed pretty fun, but obviously it wasn't really gonna mean much to me and I had other things to do, so I couldn't just use it as background noise either. Although I do like a lot of her songs and if she plays more games I'm interested to watch, I'd definitely give her more of a go too. In an ideal world, I'd have time to do some drawing myself and then I would have Ina's drawing streams open at the same time, since I feel like that would be a nice atmosphere to work in.

Oh I've seen that "water in the fire" on many occasions XD There's a lot of memeable english to come from the hot dog, which I think is a big part of her appeal. Coco also does and says some weird stuff, but she's a nice bridge between the JP and english sides.

Speaking of the JP's, I have fallen far deeper into the Matsuri heaven than before... I've gone on like a deep lore exploration where I watched her and Luna interact and where Matsuri talks more seriously with and about her and at this point I'm too far gone to turn back XD I wish my japanese was good enough to watch every stream live like I did the costume reveal one, but it just isn't, so highlights is the only way to go and it's pretty sad... I think Matsuri's genuine openness just struck me and now she is by far my favourite among the JPs XD
Fubuki is also nice, although I've seen people correct others to say that she's a fox girl and not a cat girl, I personally don't see why she's not a cat girl, since there isn't one according to my knowledge, so it would be better if the cat and the dog were the first two to join the shark in the million sub gang, but oh well XD I watched Fubuki and Matsuri play a horror game together and it was super adorable, as expected XD

I think the only reason why I'm not so excited for sports anime is because a lot of them is so long. Slam Dunk or Haikyuu are both too long at this point for me to start watching on a whim. I think it also depends on the sport. Like I really liked March comes in like a Lion (even though it isn't even really about the sport) and also Baby Steps (it's about tennis) and I enjoyed them both, even though they were roughly 50 episodes in total. So I want to get into more sport shows, but it is a little hard to find ones that I dare start watching. I guess I'll see Yuri on Ice eventually, and hopefully at that point I will have forgotten that there was ever any sort of hype around it, so I can just experience it honestly and if I hate it, I hate it XD That's how it'll have to be.

Not shocking if Demon Slayer movie does great, since it already had top-tier visuals, if it is now in movie format... hell, I'd wanna go watch that if it came out here. Although I do think Demon Slayer looks great, it's a miss for me on the whole "greatest shounen" as well as "ep 19 greatest anime episode ever" point, since I highly disagree on both of those aspects XD I had a number of small problems with it and one rather large one (pertaining to episode 19), so I thought it was a form of brainless fun that looked really good, but nothing remotely close to calling it among the greats for anything other than animation. What do you think?

Often time you find it in shows that are unsure of the future or that ran so close to the release of the original material that they couldn't foreshadow things further since nobody knew what was coming next... But My Hero Academia definitely wasn't in that case. There was no reason not to mention something earlier, so the fact that they are made into such a massive deal when revealed makes the fact that they were non-existent until now more annoying.

Deku is pretty dislikeable at the start for how naive he is and how frequently he cries for anything and then he becomes better once he's a blend of his strategic research history helping him in situations since he knows more than those around him and his newly found unmastered powers, but soon after that when he starts single-handedly ruining the power scaling irreparably and casting strategy out the window, he becomes very dislikeable again XD It's probably gonna keep going like this, though. I'd enjoy the show much more if Deku just didn't exist anymore and that says a lot about the show, I think XD

I struggled to see the reason for the fight, but I think that was intentional and the reasons will be revealed in the future, so it was pretty cool to have a hype fight that didn't contain Deku where things would at least be coherent. Plus it looked cool, like I said XD

I'll check that video out and get back to you on it.

Fair enough. And it's not like you could somehow forget the story of MHA in the meantime while watching some other (probably better) shows, so there's no harm in waiting. I'm not so against CGI, I usually give it a shot, so it seems like Beastars would be an interesting entry to get into.
Indeed. I have no other method of obtaining them at this point, so I pirated all three movies and watched them one-per-day a while ago. I've also been waiting for new Made in Abyss content since it came out, so I just didn't want to wait anymore to watch it XD
H31NST31N Oct 29, 2020 2:00 AM
Yeah, this whole year has been one endlessly hard suffering session :( It won't help if I tell you not to worry, because I don't think that's good advice, but I will tell you to keep hope that things will go better in the future.

Even Gura's chat reading streams are entertaining enough to have open while doing anything else, she has a naturally cute and also soothing and peaceful voice. It also helps her popularity that she openly memes herself (with 'a' and with the whole running joke about floaties and so forth) so many people discover her out of pure curiousity XD
I haven't watched the entire karaoke stream yet, but the two that stand out for me are the Konosuba ED Chiisana Boukensha (I like the ED itself, with the three girls singing respective parts of it and just the general calming tone that it has, so hearing Gura sing it had the same effect) and Cruel Angel's Theses (even though she kinda improvised the last 66% of the song, but I didn't mind too much, her stumbles gave the song quite a bit of character). If there are any other songs that stood out to you, you can name them and I'll go check them out if I didn't already. She's planning to do more karaoke streams in the future, right?
I also haven't watched any of Calli's streams completely, I've mostly seen clips of her being all tsundere with other EN girls and with chat and I also saw some of her rap singles. Whenever she joins the others for Minecraft, though, I do enjoy her input XD
I've watched some of Ina's streams where she draws and she's amazing at it :0 Each of them has a relatively unique quirk or appeal, so the selection must have been pretty precise for things to turn out as well as it has. And with the collaborations with the JP girls, the future is looking rather promising for us XD

I've seen many cute things to come from Korone's english XD Although I haven't joined any of her streams live, english or otherwise. The english attempts are always entertaining, though.

Rather it is Matsuri that says lewd things quite often XD Miko is instead known for her adorable english swearing. Her trademark is 'FAQ' ("fuck you" but in a cute idol voice) and I can't help but to like it...
In fact, Matsuri had a stream where she showed off some new character designs yesterday (yesterday for me, it was like 20 hours ago), so if you liked her design before, there's a whole lot to like coming up. I can't exactly place why yet, but I do think that Matsuri is solidified as my favourite among the JP's, even though she's a degenerate...

Coco's meme reviews are nice because they are a good gateway to discovering someone else that joins her for the reviews (this is technically how I found Matsuri for the first time) plus some of the memes are actually funny. Also, Coco's english and japanese levels give quite a good grounding for the whole of Hololive. Fubuki is another one that I'm scouting out, since she is the original catgirl, she has some potential to be a favourite for me, but I haven't found anything to truly latch on to as of yet... I'll keep you updated on that.

Oh yeah, I completely forgot about the Yuri on Ice phase (I haven't watched the show myself, so that's probably why I forgot about it). My Hero Academia is still going strong, so it wouldn't be too much of a shock to see it still nominated, but I'll be shocked if Demon Slayer isn't the dominant force this time around, given how insanely high the hype was for it.

It always annoyed me that these 'big three' always existed, but was never once mentioned or foreshadowed before... Surely they knew by the start of the series already that these characters will be relevant, so there was no reason for them to not foreshadow or mention them then already, sadly that made their introduction (and other claims like Aizawa saying Mirio is the closest to succeeding All Might even among the current pro heroes) feel like a big asspull. Speaking of asspulls, that is the main reason for me disliking Deku. I didn't mind him too much at the start (it seems like some people hated him from the get-go, but he was tolerable for me) but ever since Season 3 came around, like you mentioned, every big fight he just makes a bigger fuss every time, so maybe next big fight he'll use Eri and instead of going 'Infinite 100%', he'll use 'Infinite 100,000%' or some equally dumb shit... I seriously can't like anything he's involved in if I know that he can just shit out an arbitrary amount of power for no real reason to always save the day.

Contrary to Mirio, who is a truly hard worker and whose quirk takes immense mastering that he didn't skip. He's got similar drive to Deku and he's more charismatic, so he's a far better character than Deku in my mind. The Endeavor fight looked real cool and since it didn't contain Deku, I actually cared about it XD I'm somewhat interested to see where they go with Endeavor next.

I don't know about that, I'd say it contains things up to the end of season 4, but if there are other spoiling things from future seasons, then they must be pretty small things XD If you want to wait until season 6 is done before watching it, you can.

I know Promised Neverland, so I'll be waiting for its sequel. I haven't watched Dr. Stone or Beastars yet, although I've heard that you shouldn't judge Beastars simply because it looks like furry shit, so I'll give it a go at some point XD I'm also watching the Made in Abyss movies at the moment, so there's more than enough to keep me busy, yeah...
H31NST31N Oct 23, 2020 1:54 PM
Same here, the worst thing throughout lockdown was uncertainty over the future, but now we have uncertainty over the future as well as many other things to worry about :| That's good, hopefully you can get energized enough afterward by the time you start again.

I'm gonna be honest, in the time before you replied, I did a little bit of exploring. Gura was the first one I found that stuck (mostly because she is adorable), but I kept exploring... until I stumbled upon one of Gura's karaoke streams and heard her singing... then I became a shrimp immediately ;)
I actually like Amelia and also Mori for different reasons, but the uniqueness of each of them makes the collaboration streams really entertaining. In fact, I've booted up my minecraft again and I started playing it while watching Gura's minecraft streams and its actually really fun. There are also some other EN girls that I know of but haven't seen enough of to judge as of yet. But it's safe to say that Gura is also my favourite XD

I've seen so much of Korone, especially with her speaking english and its super funny XD
For the JP ones it is really hard, because my japanese isn't good enough to be able to watch a live stream while doing something else, I'd have to focus to make out what they are talking about, so my only consumption of them so far has been from clips that some admirable people made. A few stand out for me so far, one being Korone. The other is Sakura Miko, mostly because I saw her speaking english and it was one of the cutest attempts I have seen XD
And the last JP one that has stuck with me is Matsuri. She might not be much of a normal pick since it seems like she is quite the degenerate, but I don't know, I just find her honesty and unpredictability very alluring. Her main selling point, however, is her laugh. I don't know if it is just me, but I find her hearty laugh to be the most adorable thing... Here's one example of it I could find, let me know if you think the same:

I'm not up to date with any of crunchyroll awards, the last I remember was when My Hero Academia was winning everything XD I'm guessing that in the meantime, Demon Slayer has taken up that mantle?
Good, good, the bigger the dent in their company, the more likely it is that they won't do the same dumb shit in the future XD

I think Mirio has so much potential he could really have a spinoff show about his learning steps with his quirk and how his sports festivals went and such things. I'm glad that he lost his quirk, since it is some form of semi-permanent consequence that the show required, so a long-term goal is to get the antidote from the league of villains to restore his quirk (hopefully they don't just have Eri restore his quirk directly, that would be annoying to me). Personally, I don't see why Mirio can't still be a hero... He's clearly so well trained in combat and he is physically strong enough to one-hit-knockout some really durable people (like Kirishima and Tokoyami and the rest of the class) he should still be able to do more than hold his own in many situations just from brute strength alone.
Just imagine how insane Mirio would be if he had One for All, though... His permeation with All Might level strength would make him very close to unstoppable.

I agree, Overhaul was fine, but the fact that they pulled out such big guns like the Infinite 100% against a villain who is just fine feels very off to me. I was quite surprised by the last bit in season 4, the fight was actually pretty great. It felt a bit weird that a Nomu would suddenly be so different to the others and it felt like there was no reason behind the attack, but it was still among the best parts of the season, some good-looking stuff and some necessary Endeavor moments. We also get to see a bit of Hawks, who I'm guessing will become more relevant in the future.

Speaking of upcoming arcs, have you seen the second MHA movie? If you have, what did you think of it?

Oh that sounds fun, what are those three sequels?
Right now I'm watching Attack on Titan for the first time with two of my friends. Although there's a whole lot of other things that I also need to watch... I'll get to it eventually XD

I get those demotivated days really often, so I get what you feel like :(
Oh man, how long will you have to self-isolate for? Hope it doesn't go too badly.
I have heard of them, but I haven't found the time to explore them as of yet. I feel like if I do, I might fall pretty deep into it, I must confess XD
Do you watch the japanese and the english vtubers? If so, which is your favourite JP one and which is your favourite EN one? I hear there's a pretty large selection?

I feel the same. That is why I watch shitty anime quite often, forming the opinion on why it is shit is structurally the same as forming an opinion on why something is great, so in the end it builds knowledge anyway XD

No-one I continuously talk to take such rewards seriously, fortunately, so I haven't had to defend against people brushing off complaints by bringing up awards, although it might happen sometime... I'll be looking forward to that XD
The only news worth hearing would be how much Netflix has lost due to the whole story at this point ;)

I feel like the Overhaul arc had some potential overall, but at the same time I think that Overhaul wasn't nearly established enough to be as overpowered as he is (he is very close to being All for One in abilities, actually) and certainly not to blow Deku's ultimate goal in terms of power really early in order to defeat him. And then the rest of the season I found painfully boring, with the exception of their music concert itself. The gentle criminal stuff was super boring and everything else in the second half was really forgettable, if I'm honest. So even putting aside the time-manipulating abilities that break the verse, I feel like this season didn't have as strong a premise as the previous ones did.
Yeah, a little girl whose power works positively only on the protagonist who is now moving in to the same building as him sounds very much like a get-out-of-jail-free card for the future XD We thought Mirio was OP at the end of S3, now we just have casual time-manipulation... Not a fan, unfortunately :(
Same, I'll definitely watch Season 5, but much like season 4, I'm no longer standing in line all excited to get the first viewing, I'll probably let it finish airing and then tackle it later. I'll probably watch it with people as well, since I watched (and rewatched) the entire franchise with them this time around. It's quite fun.

Apologies for taking so long to reply, I've been swamped with work this last while.
You find your true favourite shows when they have both good stories and enjoyable ones. It's quite a common occurrence that these loveless projects make it out into the open... Or maybe they just seem loveless due to poor direction or time constraints, I don't know, either way, it's bad on their end XD

Anyone who values media at all should have stopped caring about awards a LONG time ago XD It has devolved into nothing but american companies patting their own backs publicly anyway... But yes, the fact that anyone would defend this movie as anything other than pedophilia is rather shocking XD

We might seem ungrateful for complaining about something like this, but the only reason we're complaining is because we know it could be much better...

You must be talking about an arc that happens beyond S4's ending, because the way I see it, Nighteye was only inserted into the story to create some fake tension about All Might's death in the future. Then when they realized what implications such a quirk (that essentially should make him omniscient) have, they decided to backpedal by saying "I'm too afraid to look into anyone else's future far again, because I'm scared of seeing death" - which I would have accepted if he weren't a grown man as well as an established and experienced hero who should have dealt with this exact fear within the first couple of years of manifesting his quirk for the first time. Then they kill him, which is great, he already ruined so many things by being able to know everything and them never explaining why he doesn't that he really needed to die XD
And being told that All Might will die is worse to me than him actually dying suddenly... Because, like I said, they are clearly just making some fake tension because the Overhaul arc doesn't provide any by itself. I really hated him. Controlling time shouldn't be close to a possibility for anyone in the MHA verse... Sadly, now Eri is even moving in with the UA students, so the ultimate bullshit plot device of reversing anything substantial is always at hand for anyone... Yeah, I'm really not looking forward to the next season at all at this point in time :(
