Gotcha. I've been getting cooked on that Elden Ring DLC. Just beat Messmer recently but I am still getting curb stomped by Rellana. I would be down to play Tekken 8 with you but I am unable to play it atm because my computer is garbage, so I am considering either buying a ps5 or waiting for my classes to start back up so I can get access the esports arena at my campus. I hear SMT is pretty good. One of friends recommended me play nocturne since I was having Persona withdraws but I still don't know too much about the series.

Awww i am sad now. My day is ruined, my life is in shambles and it's going to rain tomorrow. You should feel ashamed of yourself! But anyway, what games do you play Mr.Mitaka?

Stinky Juri enjoyer I challenge you to fight in the STREETS.

Ah, cool! Thanks for letting me know!

No problem! Suda's got some of the most insanely profound writing I've ever seen. It's darn dangerous, that's for sure! Honestly though, I could be saying that for practically all the media you've got on your profile. It's an absolutely gorgeous array of great games, movies, and more. It's just really nice to see it all. By the way if you don't mind me asking, what's your icon from? It looks real familiar, and I'm sorry if I missed it if you wrote it on your profile.

What the heck? You have the best favorites list I've ever seen! Killer7 and the 25th Ward as well! Man, I should be taking notes off you!

Ah you're right he did mention those. Yeah I definitely agree, he pulled the right amount of influence and put his creative spin on those ideas. I'm invested enough that I'm definitely going to check out the rest of his catalogue.
Ken-ji May 16, 10:17 AM
Yeah Jiro Mastumoto definitely has a distinctive voice. I read some of his other stuff and even felt a lot of it was not that great so I was not expecting this level of polish and skill on JK but I was happily taken by surprise. I'll have to check out more of his stuff.

It admittedly gets quite heavy in those final chapters with very dense dialogue scenes kinda making up the bulk of chapters. I'm sure there are many details that went over my head, but it's in the way that gave me more than enough to actually have a take away and be excited to revisit for those details.

What kind of things did you feel it was taking that inspiration from by the way? Curious if it's stuff that I've already seen as well.

Nah, the scene with Noredo and Bellri in the desert is a newly added scene to, I'd assume, give closure on her and Bellri's relationship, which was just kinda up in the air at the end of the series. And yeah, the scene where Bellri runs off into the woods after the sibling reveal was great, lol.
Ken-ji May 14, 9:41 AM
Yo, I finished Joshi Kouhei and it is fucking goated. Broke my top 10, I'm completely amazed.
MakkusuUnfilwin Apr 30, 6:11 PM
Yeah, at first I didn't think there were too many differences with the first couple of the films, but then I found this wordpress that had like every single change for the first movie in it, and there was a damn lot in terms of scene composition and editing. One of my favourite small visual changes was the addition of pupils to the G-Self's eyes, which makes it even stranger of a mech than it already is. Part IV and V definitely shine the most when it comes to updates, though. The Photon Torpedo scene is straight fucked, and Bellri's squabble with Mask is jaw-dropping in terms of animation quality. And lest we forget the god Okiura's original scene in IV with Bellri and Aida talking in low gravity.
MakkusuUnfilwin Apr 29, 1:28 AM
Yo, man, how'd you find the G-Reco films now that you've completed them?
MakkusuUnfilwin Jan 9, 7:33 PM
Yeah, the voice acting wasn't that good and—probably because Suda wasn't the main creative voice on the project—the story made little sense to me. I've gotten like halfway through Lollipop Chainsaw so far and it is infinitely better. Such a strong, singular sense of identity, with great theming, English voice casting, simple yet fun gameplay and genuinely funny, stupid dialogue. A lot of ppl say the stuff Suda did from Shadows of the Damned onwards sucks, but idk, Chainsaw seems like a standout. And my PS3s still going strong; that's what I'm playing it on. Why aren't you using it anymore? Didn't you get it modded?
MakkusuUnfilwin Jan 8, 8:31 PM
I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree about Eva for now, lol. And yes, get on those G-Reco movies when you can. It's peak Tomino. They add so much for the characters, especially movies 4 and 5. I wanna rewatch G-Reco now just talking about it.

Aside from Ideon, I've been pretty slow on anime. I've been catching up on some Suda games instead, like Killer is Dead, which I finished just recently. Not my favourite thing he's been apart of, but the aesthetics were immaculate and the gameplay was pretty tight. I'm onto Lollipop Chainsaw now.
MakkusuUnfilwin Jan 7, 6:35 PM
Tbh, yeah, I'd agree with that idea: doubling down on elements like that does heighten audience emotions if done correctly. It's probably why End of Eva is so moving to me, even now, knowing first hand how much Anno copied from Tomino in Ideon, lol. In terms of how I rank Tomino's work, I'd still say I like G-Reco and OKG more than Ideon, but Ideon was certainly the most powerful and poignant of the three. Who knows, in time, it might overtake. It certainly has the potential. I'll watch the last episode of the series soon, I just think it's impossible for it to be a satisfying ending, knowing how perfect Be Invoked is.
