A neurotic filmmaker with the heart of a gamer, the brain of a pop-culture fanatic, and a reawakened interest in anime.
Timeline:
| Sometime in 1997: First exposure to Pokemon.
| Sometime in 2000: First exposure to Toonami, and with it, my first experiences with anime such as Gundam Wing and Tenchi Muyo.
| Sometime in 2001(?): First exposure to Adult Swim and more "mature" anime such as Cowboy Bebop. It would be many years later before I would understand the greatness of that show.
| March 17, 2003 - March 12, 2005: Toonami at it's peak, with shows such as Rurouni Kenshin, Dragonball Z, and G Gundam quickly becoming my favorites.
| March 25, 2005: The beginning of the slow decline in quality for Toonami, as they begin showing less anime and more reruns of other American shows on the network.
| Summer 2006: Discovering Bleach, and the beginning of my teenage anime interests.
| Summer 2008(?): Bleach fever finally dies down into disappointment and shame.
| June 19 - August 7, 2009 : Endless Eight causes severe frustration and makes me question the standards of today's anime.
| September 2009: The Hiatus begins. Disillusioned by the lack of interesting titles and of the fan communities, I stop watching anime and life goes on quietly...
| September 2009 - January 2012: Begins dating girlfriend, starts college, life is a mundane routine...
| January 15, 2012: Joined MAL, at the behest of friends during my best friend's birthday party. Digimon The Movie plays in the background.
| January 18, 2012: The Hiatus ends. Kimi ni Todoke becomes the first series I watch in nearly 3 years, and the one to break me out of my hiatus. The series leaves such an impression on me that the anime fan within reawakens with a force more powerful than ever before, with a much more matured sensibility and wider range of artistic tastes.
| November 3, 2012: Mahou Tofu launches as a site for news and reviews on anime, as well as games, comics, and more.
| August 12, 2015: Mahou Tofu migrates from Wordpress to it's own domain at mahoutofu.com.
