I am a boring 39 year old Canadian woman doing a lot of nothing with her life.
Much of my free time is spent:
-Playing MMORPGs and various mobile games
-Watching stuff on YouTube and Twitch
-Watching movies, anime and Asian dramas
-Writing (my passion)
-Going out for walks or to sit at the park
-Playing chess
What I seek in a lot of the media that I consume is the psychology of the characters. I desire to see how the characters react to adversity. How they handle the situations they face. I want to see how they feel. I want to see what they think. I want to get in their head.
I redirect this into my own writing. I write primarily about themes targeted at teens and young adults, such as school bullying, self-harm, abuse, etc. I take inspiration from media on occasion, but I try to borrow as little as possible when it comes to actual content. I also take inspiration from my own experiences. My dream is to someday write well enough to be published, with the ultimate goal of making a positive difference for as many people as possible through relatable story beats and characters. It sounds good when I say all that, but it's a work in progress. My writing really isn't all that good right now. Still, if you are interested in reading a short story I wrote, give
The Hands That Took Away My Sanity a try? It's written in the first person, in the form of a letter.
I was a shut-in for 13 years, which ended in spring of 2021 when I started taking walks and sitting at the park near where I live. At the park, I enjoy writing, reading and looking at people or nature in general. I enjoy experiencing the living world I ignored for over a decade. It's still difficult to go out as a result of my social anxiety, though. It can be extremely crippling at times. It's a work in progress.
