Just a dude from Scotland who is interested in Anime. Before adding me, please either start a conversation with me, or leave a comment telling how/why you're adding me.
Show my rating system:
10, best of the best. Not only is the Anime gone above and beyond, but it also personally connects with me. Always leaving me wanting more, feels kinda like a landmark. Almost like a really rare achievement! In grading terms this would be an A+
9, almost perfect in any way, either losing that personal connection, or there was just one small missing feature. Feels like more than just another good show. In grading terms this would be an A
8, some flaws that stop it from being anything higher, still an great anime that leaves an impact, but maybe has a flaw or two sticking out that stops it from being an 9. In grading terms this would be an A- or B+
7, although the Anime is great, some of it's flaws would stick out, apart from the flaws, the Anime itself is okay, and generally has a good storyline holding it together. In grading terms this would be a B

It wasn't entirely irredeemable. I liked some of the character moments with Akame and her sister, I liked that they tried to flesh out both sides of the conflict, Esdeath was a decently intimidating antagonist, there was occasionally a cool looking fight, and despite how ridiculous it got it was at least a fun watch for me and my cousin Alex to comment on. It's a great showing of the creative spirit of a 14 year old.
Less a fan of its tendency to kill off characters without getting to know them well, Tatsumi was a really boring main character, the worldbuilding didn't feel developed at all, and its tone shifts from grimmdark to silly comedy tended to be more distracting than beneficial. If you liked it though, I'd recommend Berserk 1997 and Danganronpa.
