Name's Yuli, I was born 23 years ago in Colombia, I decided to make a MAL account to keep track of the anime/manga I've already watched/read. I'm not sure if I got all the manga that I read before I created my MAL account. Anyway, I used to be obsessed with shoujo manga and that was pretty much all I used to read back in the day. In regards to other genres deviating from shoujo I only started to really get interested back in 2013, that's also the time where I really started watching a lot of anime instead of just reading manga. I'm still pretty much more of a fan of manga than I am of anime, especially if the anime's source material is an already existing manga- but the most important reason is that reading manga goes faster, and you can decide your own pace, than when you're watching an anime. Nevertheless, I still enjoy watching anime, and I have to admit that I do that more, nowadays, than reading manga (well, ignoring the doujins + shoujo ai manga).
I am also a huge weeaboo. I'm in the process of learning Japanese. My dream is to visit Japan one day.
Anyhow, send me a message if you're interested in knowing more about me, I'd be glad to have a nice chat with anyone.
Favorite genres: Shoujo ai, Psychological, Horror, Drama, Slice of life, Comedy, Shoujo, Josei, Romance.
Favorite food: RED BEANS, RICE, MEAT
Hobbies: Physical exercise (like walking, playing tennis, roller skating), watching anime/reading manga, catching pokemon, going to the beach, getting together with friends, playing the piano, playing the ukulele.

Your mum is super talented :s I spent 3 months in a textiles class learning to sew but I was still mostly awful at the end of it...
Is that really purple? My eyes must be deceiving me. It looks like the same colour as blu-tack to me...
I haven't been up to much, recently started getting better hours for work (20-25 a week where I work part-time at a fencing company) so it's great to be getting some decent income and it's helping greatly to get me into better shape. I've also been looking to read some manga (which I'm very inexperienced with, still), so I looked at a few of my friend's lists to see what they liked. On that note, how come you haven't read The Different Story yet? I thought it was fantastic!
Enough of me, what about you? How has life been treating you?
Edit: I got a bit worried here, but I see you came to your senses:p
I'll defintely start Orange after I finish Nanoha. Thanks!
Do you think you'll pick up Monogatari again? As said it's the lewdest installment by far but the later seasons are well worth getting to for the payoff. Araragi is also never unfaithful to Senjougahara after they become a couple, if that was your concern.
I saw your Homura cosplay (looks great BTW) - did you make or buy it? The blue could stand to be a little darker, but that could just be cartoon visuals vs real life.
Nisemonogatari is the most fanservice-y installment and imo the worst in the series, so I get your apprehension. Installments afterwards are far less sexualised, especially in the arcs where Koyomi isn't the main character.
I'm curious as to who mentioned that he kisses other girls - it sounds like they put a lot of emphasis on it. It only happens twice in the entire series, and both of them are very much justified in context.
I'd argue that he's never unfaithful to Senjougahara. He ignores or outright rejects advances from other girls throughout the series, but does have some flirty dialogue with them at times. Later installments go into this a bit more.
I think you should try to tank through it (but this is coming from someone who has it as their favourite series :x so I'm biased) because later parts are super good, or just skip Nisemonogatari and watch Nekomonogatari:Kuro or Kizumonogatari part 1, both of which are prequels. You shouldn't force yourself, though. That just guarantees you'll dislike it even more.
Rika has it rough, yes. Probably the worst scenario I've seen a character in. I wouldn't call it time travelling but it's something similar. The thing with Kyouko didn't bother me at all. I myself adopted the headcanon of what you said: "The other reason being that Kyouko would have eventually witchified anyway so she knew that if she didn't die there, she eventually would, and rather than allowing her soul to get tainted with despair, she became master of her own destiny and ended it herself". I don't think there were romantic feelings or anything at the time, more so Kyouko giving up and as she says, not wanting Sayaka to die alone.
And yes, I knew they hyped it up! I wonder why 18 specifically and not any other episode...
Did you see that Kizumonogatari came out? It looks beautiful.
Now, about the confession... the dialogue felt very hamfisted (which apparently is because the confession scenes were pulled 1:1 from the LN, which is a poor move. The flow of conversation in dialogue in a novel can be vastly different as it can be more descriptive and can interrupt the scene with a character's thoughts). There was lots of repetition and I feel the scene went for around 10 minutes too long. I liked Subaru coming to terms with being a useless idiot but I felt as though they could have handled it better as opposed to making him accept himself 2 minutes after his rant.
I also thought that after the scene with Puck, the rest lf the episode was visually uninteresting. Most of it was just Subaru and Rem standing around talking to eachother.
And Rem... oh boy. I hope something about her changes soon because after this episode she feels like one of the characters from a magic highschool battle harem show. She's become obsessed with Subaru after only knowing him for around a fortnight, completely overlooks his flaws and is willing to abandon her family, home and friends just to be with him. I liked her more when she was a foil to Subaru's actions, being the rational one and not just going along with whatever he says. As it is now she just feels like a doormat and I'm glad he chose Emilia over her (even though I don't think he deserves her).
About what you said about Subaru having it hard; I totally agree. He's in an awful scenario right now and there's no way to escape other than giving up on everything and everyone. I definitely wouldn't call him the most 'suffering-est' character ever, though. That would probably go to a certain someone (naming would be a spoiler...) in Higurashi, which I definitely recommend. It's a first-person detective fiction that, while the visuals are terrible in season 1, has the best mystery I've ever seen.
