Seldom do we find great friendships outside of the ordinary shounen group trope. Here's my personal selection of favourite friendships that stand the test of time.
Greatest Battles
They are sometimes dramatic, sometimes tragic, sometimes funny, but always engaging: my top ten best battle scenes from anime and manga!
Best Families
There is a surprisingly low number of manga and anime that feature actual families, so allow me to highlight my favourite examples of the most beautifully written family stories.
Hello! I'm very happy to know that you liked the recommendations and also that you like My Girl as much as I do, it's my favorite manga and I don't find many people who have already read it. I'm sorry for the delay in responding to your message and I wish you a great 2025, all the best!
Thanks for putting so much thought into your recommendations. I really enjoyed them and got through all of them over the new year while avoiding some brutal winter weather. Planetarian was a bit bare bones but I loved the framework and ideas in it and am definitely going to check out the VN to get a more detailed and fleshed out version of the story and characters. I might check out some of the LNs and Drama CDs too. Is there a particular English translations of these you would recommend I'd appreciate it because I'm not knowledgeable about VN fandoms and if the official translation or fan translations are preferred, or if there are translations more highly regarded than others and I don't know where to look for that info.
Thanks so much for the gift!! You were completely right with your choice of going all in with Cross Game, I really do love the series that much :) You did a great job with the images, they work so nice with my profile already. I actually really love the minimalist style you ended up with, it suits both the series and my personal taste. I'm a sucker for profile pictures that blend in with the About Me, so the second one you made with Aoba leaning onto a wall flows so nicely and really ties the big About Me image together - right up my alley.
I'm super pleased with the gift, thank you so much :) Hope you had a fantastic Christmas, and I wish you a (somewhat belated) Happy New Years!!
Thank you for the recommendations! I enjoyed what I've watched of Kakushigoto and look forward to watching the others when I get a chance. Happy new year!
Thank you for the recs! I haven't watched them yet, but each one looks interesting enough in it's own right that I can't say which one looks the most appealing to me. I hope 2023 treats you well :)
THANK YOU FOR THE GIFT!
I REALLY REALLY LIKED THE EDIT YOU MADE!
I'M USING BOTH OF THEM RIGHT NOW!!!
I WAS REALLY EXCITED TO GIVE MY THANKS TO THE PERSON WHO HAD GIFTED ME THE IMAGE!
Okay, I was too excited... anyways, your gift made me really happy on Christmas I just want to let you know that :)
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
"A big breasted well tanned mature beauty wearing a half opened shirt posing in a quite lascivious manner with a pearl white grin on her face. Yeah, right, you watch this show because of the deep characters and the exciting and intelligent story, don't ya?" - This guy, 2010
Hello, I wanted to thank you for the amazing 'About me' you made for me! I absolutely love it and wanted to let you know that I'm incredibly happy to have it on my profile. I like how you mixed JoJo and K-on poses there haha! Once again thank you so much and I wish you a happy 2022!
Hey there, it appears you were my MAL Secret Santa this year! Thanks a lot for the nice recommendations! I already finished watching Sora no Manimani, which was especially nice since I hadn't really heard about it beforehand (but discovered afterwards when I wanted to look up the manga, that I had saved it in my library sometime in the past haha). It's almost a shame that the anime didn't have a second season or something like that, the characters and setting were fun enough!
I've had AnoHana and AnoMatsu on my list for quite a while, so I will take your recommendations for those to heart and move them up on my priority list, I'm sure I'll enjoy them as well.
Once again, thanks for the Secret Santa, I hope you had a nice Christmas and also a belated Happy New Year!
AOT S1 is indeed a bit edgy and seemingly shallow at times but for me as I watched S2 and S3 and S3p2 it really all fell into place and AOT became a pretty beautiful story about the horrors of war and the danger of cycles of revenge.
On a side note, you should give Shinsekai Yori a try! Currently watching it for the first time and it's super solid. It gives very strong DarliFra vibes, from the general plot and themes to the character design and animation.
