I GET THAT!! Honestly i'm not the biggest mecha fan either tbh but the plot isn't completely just robots! more robots! more... robots...! in your face every 5 seconds so I consider it to be more tolerable than some other mech anime,, in my opinion at least! EITHER WAY if you do end up giving it a try, i'd love to know what you think of it! (and monster too!!)

I GOTTA LET YOU KNOW TOO RIGHTTT, NO ROBOTS FIGHTING! it is definitely more of a slow burn anime as well, and i ended up just watching it in small bits at a time, but the cast and plot is really incredible. probably not much of a binge show, i'd definitely take it slow if you do end up liking it!! :) AND YOU'RE A PSYCH MAJORRRRR? THAT'S SO COOL AGJJVKF well now I hope this meets your standards 🫡

oml I'm so glad you agree, it's definitely one of the biggest things that turn me away from BL recommendations, because they just romanticize the hell out of any kind of toxicity.. i haven't read color recipe and it's the first time i'm hearing of that manga; is it something you'd recommend as far as the right kind of fucked up?

YEAH!! YEAHHH!! YOU GET IT X2!! I really thought I was gonna love Fontaine because I really do think that the region itself is pretty beautiful aesthetic-wise, but I felt like such a boomer trying to learn all of the new mechanics and the new meta etc.. etc... I also couldn't into the story, though I could appreciate the theatrics of it! I just wasn't interested in Furina's story at allll or the subplots, stuff like that which just made me drag my feet a bit to get it finished :') Neuvillette though!!!! His character design is SO PRETTY, and that's one thing I'll give Fontaine credit for was they had some cute characters. He definitely interested me the most out of all the Fontaine cast, but I didn't get to his story before I was burnt out badddd... Sumeru is definitely one of my favorite regions by farrrr, LOVE ALHAITHAM!!! LOVE KAVEH!! but I think I'll always be a Mondstadt/Liyue lover at my core; there's just some silly nostalgia in those first 2-3 regions that I miss badly! I might not engage with the fandom much anymore post-Fontaine/Natlan... but I def still enjoy brainrotting over some of my favorites!! Ugh and Childe honestly was my guilty fav for ages, but I rarely see any content for him anymore since the newer regions have come out hgjagjf bad times for brainrot...
similarly wanna know who you loved the most/what regions you preferred (if any)!!! ⸜(*ˊᗜˋ*)⸝

YESSSSS UGH I crave those cutesy dark shows SO BADLY, but I can't seem to find any that really interest me nearly as much as Madoka did!! although I finally started getting through Girls Last Tour and it's satiating my hunger for now,, I just crave bleak emptiness and despair with magical girls!

Evangelion definitely does have a decent amount of mecha in it and I for sure wouldn't recommend it if you're strongly against that genre!! It does have a strong story outside of the mech elements, but if it's a hard no on mech elements then I'd say you should pass it just to avoid any headache about it AHHAHA
-- Monster on the other hand is pretty incredible (without any robots!)!! I found the story and characters to be pretty compelling and if you at all enjoy psychological/drama genres then that might be a good fit for you!

I think, if MADK were to be described as fetish-y, it's very open with it and there's almost something admirable about just like... unashamedly putting that work out there. I do love the vibes; it does a really perfect job at being fucked up while not romanticizing or making light of "hey these guys are /really/ fucked up" which was such a nice change of pace in comparison to the typical BL/yaoi romanticizing those things

ALHAITHAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't played Genshin since maybe the end of the Fontaine patches but Alhaitham, Kaveh, and a few others will ALWAYSS be dear to me!! their dynamic...... I brainrotted (?) over them for SO long when they first came out (♡˙︶˙♡) YOU'RE SOOO INCREDIBLY REAL FOR THAT
AND MADOKA TOO ugh yes I adore the soul crushing psychological torment wrapped up in a glittery cutesy bow, yk?? i adore so many of the characters, homura especially!!!!

LITERALLY TOO!!! really wished there was a little more to it howeverrr I can't say I was dissatisfied with the ending or anything. the artstyle is sooo gorgeous, but I know that the body horror/gore genre can be hard to stomach so I know that it's not a lot of people's 'thing' hahfjaha

omg that sums it up perfectly though, i love to make myself cringe too and then wonder why i just spent hours reading this terrible piece of fiction (only to do it again a few months later or whenever the mood strikes..)

YES!! Monster and NGE are some of my favorite anime but if you prefer to read manga, I'd say go with that!! But the anime and manga for both are just incredible!!! I actually prefer the Evangelion manga to the anime hafhsj (MADK... god... terrible guilty pleasure it's so fucked up, but the art is just incredible, and they are such strange characters I just couldn't put it down)

And sweet! I've had it on my list for a while, but I have terrible time management skills, so I end up rereading the same garbage for the 50th time...
I think I'll give it a try then, at least up until the latest volume to let these monthly chapters marinate ( ´ ▿ ` )
