Hello, just wanted to say that you have some nice favourites in your anime and manga list.

Here is a question? You watch an episode of a series, you think it's bad but you decide to give t another episode. This one is also bad so you drop it. Now would it be fair to the series to rate it low when you've only seen two episodes?

Take Magical girl Lyrical Nanoha, the first 3 or four episodes are nothing special, but around episode four or five it picks up.

The reason I ask i because I've just dropped Sikoku no dragonar. If I was to rate it I'd give it a 2 or 3 but is that fair when I have seen no more than 2 episodes.

What is your opinion on SAO? I was surprised to find I didn't actually hate it, it's not good certainly but it's not I expected much worse from all the hatred it gets.

Max Heart is a direct sequel to the first season and GoGo is a sequel to Yes5. But aside from those two they're all different.

There are crossover movies too if you ever get that far.

Yeah even though I enjoyed the first season it's pretty bland compared to others. My favorite season is Splash Star but the thing with it is that it's really similar to the first season but pretty much better in every way. But I don't like recommending it before watching the first series because then you can fully appreciate how improved it is compared to the first season.

I'd say try out either Fresh or Smile. Smile is super fun, it's really episodic and simple though if that's a turn off. Fresh has great characters, fun villains and a pretty good plot by Precure standards.

The most popular and well regarded season in general is Heartcatch though. I don't like it as much as some others because I don't care for victim of the week stuff but it's a really pretty show with awesome action and some great characters and fun villains.

They all offer different things so if you aren't liking one you can try out another, Splash Star and Heartcatch have a bit of a slow start. These shows still aren't for everyone so no big deal if you just end up not liking them anyways.

Should e follow the crowd or not? I think the issue is not following the crowd but doing what we want rather than what is simply popular. If we want something that is popular then fine, if not then that's ine too. The important thing isn't wether the crowd is going in the same direction as you but that the direction you are going in is one you chose without regard to what the crowd is doing.

In other words we should make our choices based upon our own beliefs and desires and not on what other people do. To base our choices simply on what is popular is to lose sight of ourselves, to lose control over ourselves. It reminds me of The Divine Comedy where in the circle of lust the denizens are buffeted around in the void by ceaseless winds. That is what basing decisions on what the crowd is doing is like, you end up being thrown around with no ability to choose your own path.

It isn't always easy to follow your own path, sometimes even when you belive you are doing the right thing others will hate you for it. Sometimes we don't always know the path to take. Do we simply follow our desires or try to find something more, what certain philosophies, particulary western hermetic ones like Thelema call the true will. This is a belief that every person has a calling, a purpose in life. But finding out what that is is usually at least a dificult task in itself.

> but I can blog about happy, carefree things too!

Yup , I read your blogs and I must say enjoy them , since I rarely see someone sharing their thoughts in a public and so deeply.

In blog , to fit in crowd or do what you enjoy.
If crowd cannot accept the fact that you're anime fan , Why bother hanging with them? They aren't much of your friends anyways. Just stick to your few close friends and they will make you feel accepted. I've two best friends and both know I like anime but one only teases me a bit but other dislikes anime but doesn't says anything about it. I've told my classmates I'm fan of anime , Very quickly I could see who was my true friend.

Well , Anime is seen to be weird in public. If you do cherish your pride then you're better off not telling to crowd.

From my perspective, who's an outsider, I think you have already made your decisions. Well, it is possible to be in both crowds, if you want to be in them. Anime is almost spreading as of these days, and from what I have seen, cool or not, almost everyone watches it. Maybe they don't even know what anime is properly, but they are fans of Naruto, Deathnote and other popular anime. You have to share it to see their view of it, similar to Schrodinger's cat phenomena.

Again, I am just an outsider, and I don't really know your situation. But I leave my opinion, for it is you to interpret.

Just passing by....sometimes to do "what you enjoy" is fitting into the crowd. There are so many crowds, and you just never know which is your one. If you are trying to fit into a crowd, it's probably like going for the train at Japanese rush hour....

...and you know, maybe the other popular guy/girl at school has a same problem..everyone has a little secret they want to protect, when you say you're trying to "fit" into a crowd, that's flat out segregation...you can't really talk of the crowd based on an Anal-Aperture who hate on anime.

...beside, if you want to give up what you like for something else, doesn't that mean you like that other thing a bit better?

That's some deep stuff in your blog. :D

Oops had it on friends only, just put it onto public. Do you have any pictures of those posters.

I've updated my blog, I'd be interested in your thoughts on the Rozen Maiden entry. I haven't made it public yet as I want to edit it further.
PGit Oct 13, 2013 5:14 PM
It's not so much if he ended up with her I'm against (I've nothing against Saitou per say) but I object to the idea that you can't have a guy and a girl knowing each other and being on friendly terms without it turning into a romance.

And yes, as much as I liked the new rozen Maiden I would certainly rather have a sequel to Traumend.
PGit Oct 6, 2013 1:10 PM
I do like Fruit Basket, individually the episodes were amazing, and I did give it a high score it's just it could have done some things better.

It seems almost certain that the reboot of Rozen Miden will get a sequal but are they going to attempt to replace the original series? If so then they should have started this story from the beginning. I am rather pleased that they didn't have some forced romance between Jun and Saito.

Now if only they'd make a proper sequal to the original anime.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
