I've never seen Kaiji, neither the live-action movie, anime, or manga. I only vaguely know the scene called "Zawazawa".

As for Space Brothers, I've stopped reading the manga halfway through too. I'm sure I'll read it when I get around to it, but right now, I don't think I have the urge to read it. I finished reading a book yesterday by the author who wrote Mushishi. It was a timely topic, and I laughed a little.

I liked Initial Ⅾ better in the anime...

As for the rice, I don't know if I have a poor taste buds, but I didn't find it tasty, especially compared to the rice I eat every day. The one I went with was delicious! They said...

My job is an office job, but I also go on business trips, replant flowers at the station, collect money, open a candy store at festivals, etc. I think it's a job where I can do a lot of different things.

I think I'll probably start reading One Piece when I get to the end of the story and start reading manga. I'm pretty much in a drop-out state early on. As for the movies, I've seen a couple of them recently. As for movies, I like Gold.

As for Space Brothers, I've read up to volume 30 and stopped there. It's a pain in the ass to read the rest of the books, so I just stop there. I've read all the Mushishi manga, and I'd like to read other works by the author.

Ghibli's works are not as entertaining and cheerful as the general public would like, and there is more than one answer to the question, so I have a different opinion. Also, it seems like they are still working on the film, so it may not be the last one.

Ghost MF is racing in some kind of controlled situation, so I can see how you might get the impression that it's bleak. You might prefer the author's previous works, which are more motorcycle-themed instead of car-themed. The comedy elements and the cuteness of the heroine are a bit more appealing, but I read the book thinking, though only in the beginning, that you've always been good at portraying racing... As for the anime, I haven't seen it, but it seems to be underrated.

Oh, and congratulations on your engagement! I wonder if anything exciting has been going on lately. I guess I was surprised that I got a flat tire on my car. I'm traveling for work next week to an area that has great rice, so hopefully something exciting will happen there.
kihel Sep 20, 2023 1:02 AM
I was fine in my own way. I've been thinking about slowing down my manga reading lately. Some good anime and manga... I haven't come across any lately. The latest Ghibli movie, too... personally, I didn't like it that much...

I didn't reply back to your comment from a year ago, so I'll return it.

As for seasickness, I recently took a small wooden boat and surprisingly didn't get drunk.

As for the manga featuring Iceland,
https://myanimelist.net/manga/97179/Hokuhokusei_ni_Kumo_to_Ike

Vampire HunterⅮ is a favorite of mine if you like good old vampire stories. If you're looking for flashy battle scenes or something like that, this is not the work for you. I like it.

I didn't end up watching the anime of Ghost MF. I only read the first part of the manga. As for One Piece, I recently watched the Red movie on a video streaming site. In addition, I watched some of the past movies, but I think I like Gold... In Japan, there is a re-release of the Red movie in October for a limited time. I haven't seen the live-action drama. It seems to be well received though!
kihel Sep 12, 2022 10:26 PM
On a cruise ship, working.... I feel like I'm going to get seasick.

Iceland, you saw the geysers! I envy you for seeing it in person, since it was featured in a manga set in Iceland. That manga also depicted the scenery well, so it must have been beautiful to see it in person!

LOL at the vampire media you consumed, which was Hellsing. On the other hand, I've read quite a few vampire-themed manga and anime lately: Hitsuji no Uta, Vampire Knight, Shiki, Yofukashi no Uta, Vampire Hunter D (2000), Kyuuketsuki Sugu Shinu...

Working cruise, huh? I'm not dexterous enough to balance study and work, so I guess it's difficult for me. I think a working cruise is more difficult than studying abroad because studying is the main part of a study abroad program.

GTO is, uh, more American than Japanese, isn't it? The bullying is very Japanese, though.
The main character Onizuka's flamboyance is very American.

I'd like to study online a little, but I haven't tried it yet. In the meantime, I'm planning to attend MAL's VR online event this week.

Hope you're doing well too!
kihel Aug 8, 2022 12:45 AM
I love it. Traveling on a cruise is something I want to experience once in my life. I see you've been to Iceland as well? You were able to go ashore, right? Did you see the geysers and stuff?

I think the novels I've read recently are a novel about vampires and mysteries, and an essay compiled from a column that a shoujo manga artist used to write for a newspaper. It's like I'm reading novels by women writers in a row.

I wonder if I'm working too hard. Since you are a student, is it more of a study thing? Now that I think about it, I wish I had traveled abroad when I was a student. Well, it's fun to do it now!

As a Japanese, I really wonder why GTO is so popular overseas. Well, it's not that it's not popular in Japan as well, since it was recently remade and made into a live-action drama.

I've never seen "Planetarian," but looking at the production company, yeah, I'm sure it's a reasonably good anime. As for Visual Novel, I've read it, but it wasn't for me...

Well, I'm doing fine. Studying Japanese, huh? I wonder, what would be the best way to improve, to actually speak it?
kihel Jul 28, 2022 7:16 PM
I love cruises.... No, if you had something to do, I don't think you need to be active in MAL. There was a time when I didn't even try because I was bored with anime and manga.

Well, I usually spend my time reading manga, sometimes novels, and a little bit of anime. Saturdays and Sundays are unusually busy for me at work this week. It's nice to spend time at home, isn't it?

Even on board, you were watching cartoons and reading books, weren't you? I was surprised that the choice was "Silver and Gold" by Nobuyuki Fukumoto. Am I the only one who feels that the content is not suited for a fun onboard trip? I watched GTO in real time, the OP is cool. I read all the manga this year. Miyabi, until the end, I didn't like it.

I think I've been reading too many manga books lately, so I'm thinking of reading some light novels and regular novels.

Glad to hear you're doing well!

Oh, the image is Mushishi. I can't help but think of winter.
Can you read the text accompanying the image?

English.
It says, "In the snow, red plum blossoms were blooming.
kihel Jul 21, 2022 7:16 PM
happy birthday!

kihel Apr 6, 2022 1:13 AM
You're working hard on your schoolwork, so it's a good thing you've been busy! I don't mind being late. And I envy you getting on the boat afterwards.....

Your grades are so-so! Tests can be terrible at times, but as long as the overall score is higher than the average, it's good, right?

I think I like the cartoon style of the 90's because I used to read and watch a lot of manga, including anime. I kind of like the detailed eye writing. I think that the current cartoons and animations seem to have a much cleaner depiction of the inside of the eyes.

I read "Fist of the North Star" last year. There are many older people who like it. I read manga while exercising at the gym, and the guy who always talks to me seemed happy to know the name of "Fist of the North Star".

Oh, sometimes cheap soup tastes better than cheap steak!

Apollo Chocolate, you had never had it? Well, you'll get a chance to try it someday! Mushroom chocolate probably means a pile of mushrooms. I prefer the chocolates from Bamboo Shoot Village. In Japan, people sometimes talk about whether they like the chocolates of Mushroom Mountain or those of Takenokonosato.

I was fine. The earthquake was big in the Tohoku area, but I live in the southwest. But I'm sure there will be a big earthquake someday.
kihel Mar 7, 2022 10:55 PM
Oh, long time no see. Did you get a good grade on the test, as busy as you were?

As for spoilers - I've been trying to be careful lately, so if I still see one, I'll consider it bad luck.

Oh, you read Mushishi's manga. I, too, had a hard time borrowing it from the library (every time I did, someone else was borrowing it).
Mushishi Tokubetsu-hen: I was able to borrow and read Hihamukage, and after reading just one book, I find myself wanting to read more.

My favorite manga in terms of pictures is.
Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon
Magic Knight Rayearth

I have loved them since they were serialized, and I have art books of both of them.
I like CLAMP's drawings up to about 1998, with the detailed drawing in the eyes.

There is no other manga artist whose drawings alone, without regard to the content of the story, are so good.

Ken Obata: DEATH NOTE
Takehiko Inoue: SLAM DUNK
Kentaro Miura: Berserk
Katsuhiro Otomo: AKIRA

I also think Togashi, who is actually a licensed art teacher, is also good, although he writes in a surprisingly simplified form.

Yoshihiro Togashi: HUNTER✕HUNTER

Well, it depends on who you think is good at it! See for yourself and judge for yourself.

Tokyo Revengers is still in the middle of its 25th volume. It is a manga that suits those who like it, but not those who don't. It was animated until September and was reasonably popular, so I assume you've heard of it.

I think the chocolate on the Goku figure was only from the waist up. And I think there was a way to eat it, melt it in a warm drink and drink it. You are just, just saying how to eat the chocolate rabbit, but it was kind of gross and made me laugh.

I thought the truffles were sweet because it said on the box that they were café latte flavored, but they were bitter. It said "truffle" on the box, but it was like cheap soft powdered chocolate, not the real high quality stuff. Someone at the gym gave me some chocolates, and I plan to return the favor on White Day.

Ah, Meiji. I like the small chocolate Apollo, and it's usually in the fridge. I adore local candy makers and all that! However, a candy factory is actually not a place I would like to visit that much, because I was scared of Chibi Maruko-chan's story about visiting a candy factory.

Both "Mitsuboshi Colors" and "Carefree" have very young characters, so if that's not enough for you, why don't you make the characters' age range around high school students or something? And I live in the countryside, so I don't feel like actively reading Slice of Life...
kihel Feb 23, 2022 5:30 PM
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you too.

In the case of manga, I think the most shocking pattern is when there are spoilers in the commentary. Well, I decide what I'm going to read based on the manga's synopsis, so I can get away with a certain amount of spoilers. But if 80% of the story is spoiled, I don't want to read it.

Urasawa's works can be read as novels, but I think I like reading them in manga best.

As for the links, I'm currently working on reading them, but I'm biased towards the genre, so it's not something you have to force yourself to try.

The poster of the main character as a terrorist uses an image from the anime movie, but the original novel has been out for more than 20 years, so I think it's normal to notice it. Many of them become problematic after they are turned into posters and posted. (You know, the ones where you can see all the way through the pants...)

Well, if you go out of your way to buy marshmallows and give them back to me, then I think you're a kind person. There are people who don't give gifts in return. I was wondering how the recipient of the chocolate Goku figure would eat it. I wondered how they would eat it, from where they would bite into it, or if they would melt it in a drink.... Well, the chocolates usually came in a box. The cheaper ones came in a plastic bag with silver paper.

For Valentine's Day, I bought my own chocolates. I was disappointed that the truffle type chocolates were more bitter than I expected, and not to my liking.
How about you, how was your Valentine's Day?

I didn't know you could eat imported Japanese chocolates there! I wonder which candy company's chocolates they are from... Sometimes when I eat expensive chocolates, I feel happy even though I die instantly, right?

I've never read Mitsuboshi Colors. I searched for an image and thought it might be a slice of life story.
CyberStat Feb 17, 2022 1:54 AM
Oooh <3 Thank you so much ^__^= I'm really glad you enjoyd it! ♥
kihel Feb 6, 2022 10:08 PM
I generally don't encounter spoilers in the novels, but I do encounter spoilers in the commentary of the manga library... I wish they would at least put the spoilers in the last volume. A lot of people read the comics version, so the commentary contains spoilers, but please don't do that.

I use Wikipediaha as a reference when I want to know spoilers for works that I have trouble seeing the rest of. As for Dovetevsky, I've only read "Crime and Punishment" and "The Basement Memoirs". I have not read "The Midnight Sun".... I'm also planning to read some of the great writers, but I tend to prioritize manga....

The library has a limit on the number of books I can borrow, so I only borrow manga.
https://myanimelist.net/manga/104565/Tokyo%E5%8D%8DRevengers
https://myanimelist.net/manga/21389/Hyakushou_Kizoku
https://myanimelist.net/manga/688/Maison_Ikkoku

I get bored with manga alone, so lately I've been reading mystery novels in between.

Oh, I thought the design or the atmosphere was similar to Mushishi... Onmyoji, right? I'm sure you'll find it interesting.
https://myanimelist.net/manga/15079/Onmyouji

Well, I want people to see various types of manga, not just the Mushishi type.

I sometimes collaborate with the government. Versailles" was a collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. However, "Senko no Hathaway" was a collaboration with the National Police Agency, but since the main character in this story is a terrorist, I thought the collaboration was a mistake.

Well, I don't think there are many people in Japan who like marshmallows!Last week, when I went to the Valentine's Day chocolate section of the supermarket, I saw a Dragon Ball chocolate with Goku in a Kamehameha pose, and it was as well made as a figure... I thought, "Well done! At this time of the year, chocolates of anime works are also sold. The Kirby chocolates were expensive, but they were cute!

As for the cookies and cream flavored chocolates, last year I had a Hershey's chocolate bar and discovered how delicious it was! I'm now eating cheap cookies and cream flavored chocolates from Japan.

どういたしまして!
kihel Feb 1, 2022 9:15 PM
If the categorization of Natsume's Book of Friends is surprising for a girl, it is certainly surprising for a young man ...... It is. It doesn't really feel like a shonen manga, does it?

Personally, I don't want to spoil the manga about the "life and death" of the characters.

I have a book waiting to be returned at the library, but I haven't read it yet.
https://myanimelist.net/manga/62023/Mushishi_Tokubetsu-hen__Hihamukage

Well, I also borrow quite a few books at once from the library, so I guess I'm annoying someone at times. As for Yukio Mishima, I like "Kinkakuji" and "After the Banquet". ...... I haven't read "Spring Snow".

I see that you have started reading "To the Forest of Fireflies". From your comments, I'm relieved to hear that you liked it.
I didn't register the manga I'm reading now (MAL) on purpose, but I'm reading it because I think the pictures and story are like "Mushishi"... I'm reading it because I think the pictures and story are like "Mushishi.

In Japan, the peak of the epidemic is yet to be seen, and I have heard that some schools are closed when there are infected students.

As for Golgo 13, I read a manga in collaboration with the government at work last year. I thought, "Isn't that a good place for collaboration...? I thought it was, but it was a collaboration with the government. Since Golgo 13 is a complete story, I think it is a good work to read from any volume. I think I've seen a few of the anime as well.

I am looking forward to getting chocolates for Valentine's Day. In Japan, I think other sweets are more likely to be found on the shelves of White Day fairs, instead of chocolates. I am careful not to send marshmallows to my partner because marshmallows are hated, cookies are friends, and candy means love. Some people give back three times the amount of chocolate they received on Valentine's Day, and the rules vary from person to person. Some people give accessories in return.

But I like chocolate, so if I can get something in return on White Day, I want chocolate. I see that you like white chocolate! I recently like cookies & cream flavored chocolate with white chocolate as a base~.

Communicating in English, I understand!
kihel Jan 26, 2022 6:40 PM
I think my ex-boyfriend was very brave.... I'm sure you didn't have the courage to go directly to the store to buy it either...

As for Natsume's Book of Friends, I think the reason it's in the shoujo category is because it's serialized in a shoujo manga magazine. In fact, I used to buy it for a while. There are no serialized magazines that are "in between" shonen, shoujo, and seinen, so I think it's inevitable that it gets categorized somewhere.

Banana Fish has a cover that doesn't look like a shoujo manga, so I thought it would be a normal read, but the reason you can't read it is the content: it's classified as BL, but I think it's a BL expression to escape from a life and death situation, so I didn't mind actually reading it. In the first place, my mother had finished the manga before me and spoiled it for me. I wish I hadn't spoiled it when there was only one more book to finish: ....... My mother...

I want to borrow "Hiyorikage" from the library, but it's already been borrowed by someone else, so I'm waiting for it to be returned. Oh, you're writing a story based on Mushishi, aren't you? That's nice!

I've already read "Hotarubi no Mori e", but it's not a sequel to "Natsume's Book of Friends". To begin with, "Natsume's Book of Friends" itself is still a serialized manga. You can read either one first, but you might want to read "Hotarubi no Mori e" first. It has a similar worldview to Natsume's Book of Friends, and it's a short story, so if you don't like it after reading it, you can decide whether or not to start reading Natsume's Book of Friends. Also, there are two main characters, and one of them is named GIN, which sounds a bit like GINKO.

Well, I think it's unusual for a family to take over an out-of-print book after its death. But it's nice, isn't it?

The professor at your university... You've been infected with the coronavirus. It's a very, very familiar story. I have a family member with coronavirus in my office, and we have a staff member who is currently on leave.

Since Golgo 13 is a complete story, I didn't feel like reading the rest of the series even after it was gone. The pattern of the author's death in the middle of a series is the hardest for me.

No, no, I think it's hard to lose weight. When I exercise, I tend to eat sweets. Also, from now on, Japan is going to release delicious chocolates for Valentine's Day on February 14, so I buy them. It's a delicious season for chocolate in Japan.

Oh, whichever one you are comfortable talking about, you can write about it. The most important thing is to get the message across, and if a friend of mine on MAL writes a comment in Japanese, I'll reply in Japanese.
kihel Jan 24, 2022 6:30 PM
Well, on my birthday, as long as the cake is good, I'm basically satisfied.

I don't think men will be able to afford the covers of shoujo manga at this level. I think my boyfriend was brave enough to buy the Cardcaptor Sakura (topmost) manga at the bookstore when he was in high school.

I don't think there's any shame in men buying Natsume's Book of Friends. The cover of Banana Fish is so stylish that it doesn't look like a shoujo manga at all. I'd be embarrassed to buy Skipp Beat, depending on the number of volumes. These are all manga that I read regularly, though. As for Mushishi, you can probably get it cheaper in Japan. I like the atmosphere of the color pages, or the use of color.

Natsume's Book of Friends is set in modern times, and the main character is a high school student, so school life and relationships with friends come into play. Also, there are mascot characters that appear, so the degree of seriousness is milder than in Mushishi. Therefore, there should be less of an aftertaste in the story.

As for Shin-chan movies, many people in Japan like the two I linked to. I like them, too. As for Shin-chan, since the author is no longer with us, his daughter has taken over the manga.

As I write this comment, it's your online class day! I hope you are getting through your days without taking melatonin.

As for Berserk, I heard that the final manuscript was finished by the assistant and published in the magazine, but no details were announced about the future... Well, I can't help but think that there will be more manga artists who will pass away, unfinished.

I don't feel confident that I'll be able to lose enough weight to go on a diet, but I'll try my best not to gain any more weight than I already have.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
