As my username implies, I love music and am a singer in real life, taking inspiration from anime for my songwriting. I like cute and strong anime girls, best if they're both! I don't really catch up with anime of the season; it's so much more enjoyable to watch anime at a relaxed pace without FOMO pressures, and it's better for avoiding shows that eventually turn to crap in the later part of the season.
7 is generally my median score for anime I like and every number higher represents a logarithmic increase in how much something resonates with me, while 5 is my passing grade below which the number represents something I dislike. It has to be really bad for me to give it a 1, and chances are, I would already know it's a 1 from reading plot summaries, hence why something like Wonder Egg Priority which is repugnant enough to deserve the score isn't on my watch list.
To me, the best stories expand people's imagination in some way. My reviews primarily focus on female-led anime because they tend to get less attention, so hopefully they end up being a useful resource for people, and I'm always open to constructive criticism regarding them.

I listened to your song and enjoyed it. Your keyboard notes were especially beautiful. Singing, writing, and composing all at once must be quite a challenge.
I'm fairly new to Western music, though I started exploring classical pieces after watching Nodame Cantabile. I used to play the keyboard as a child but, for various reasons, stopped practicing along the way.
I think people use media as a way to deal with other issues in their lives. I do too. There is a lot of fear in the anime community, and it's not a healthy fear. You know I have never made an actual thread on here... maybe I should talking about the general fear/xenophobia in the community. I just don't think it's logical and I really think it's due to the fact a lot of anime fans are too invested in the hobby. Like I get it, I have been bitter about the EVIL "Western media" too. Gundam was kinda my refugee a bit, coming off being kinda jaded with SW. Still I think since getting into reading more novels, I kinda realize there is a lot of good storytelling, in a lot of different places if you know where to look.
Granted I really think some of those guys are just trolling....idk. Even if there were no evil Western influences and dubs, it's not like anime is going to never change. It has done that plenty of times before it became more international. I just don't think I care as much because to me I have a life supply of anime already, plus I do genuinely think there is good with collaborating outside of Japan, not even just with the West either. I mean garbage will come out of it too, however, that is true about anime as well.
Regarding Kanon, that's good, going to try and get in an episode or two today. Just been so busy, though in another month I should have some more time for anime. I really want to watch Clannad, however that is another show my best friend and I plan to watch together. Hopefully this summer.
Also fair enough, actually surprised Love Live has trauma in it. Looks like a pretty light hearted show.
I know you said you don't like seasonals however, do you plan to watch Mono at some point? I really enjoyed Yuru Camp, so interested to see what a different work, from the same creator will be like. Spring looks like an interesting season, so I may try to watch a few shows. The last seasonal I did was the first season of the Apothecary Diaries. I also don't watch seasonals very often these days. I just never keep up lol.
Honestly I mainly post online, when I am just taking a quick break from work. It feels sometimes like a quick time waste rather than genuine socialization. I want to have more of that, so I think I should just attempt to have more 1 on 1 convos.
Still I always do like trying to make new friends, online and IRL. That is why I made a MAL all those years ago (plus the tracking).
I don't watch really any idol shows, though I have wanted to actually get into them.....at some point. Going to watch Cardcaptor too, I did like it (first 10 episodes), my friend just told me he wanted to watch it with me, so I threw it on hiatus until then lol.
Deserved. Oshiete is a bright light in this community.
Made my day thanks so much <3
Thank you for the friend request as well ^u^
I haven't seen Love Live, but I've heard it's supposed to be decent!
I don’t know if I really make music I started recently so it’s reallllllyyyyy bad lol
Woah you’re a singer?? That’s AMAZING!
