as for me, i also dabble in archery. i have a recurve and compound bow that i shoot occasionally. i was obsessed with it last year but not so much these days. i also taught primary school for three years. i did one year in kinder and two years in fifth grade. i also did one year teaching abroad loooong ago but that's another story. this year, i decided to take an year away from teaching and help my brothers and dad with the family business which is a contracting company for flooring services and relevant logistics. i mainly do billing, payroll, and other clerical stuff that my brothers and father hate doing 🤣 the work kinda suits me since i enjoy tinkering with computers. i've taken apart and put together more computers than i can remember and i've spend hundreds of hours breaking my linux install 🥲 my only other hobby i can think of is walking the nearby river trails. it's very relaxing and i can catch pokemon. i do have plans to practice japanese again, i'm just waiting for inspiration to hit me 😢 i took 3 semesters of it in uni and i still remember a lot of the basics thank you anime but i want to be much much better!! i hope to take a trip to japan next year and not completely suck at getting around.

i was born in california where it was never too hot or cold, and there was always a nice breeze year around, but i moved to the central states when i was a kid since life was getting expensive over there. much like your situation, it's stupid humid here during the summer. our landscape is mostly a never ending forest of pine and oak trees. it's very quiet over here. the loudest things you'll hear are the cicadas in the summer day or a train passing by in the middle of the night. we have many lakes and rivers here (i live about an hour from the mississippi) and not much else to do so consequently outdoors activities like fishing, hunting, and hiking are very popular. where i went to school, there was no other hispanics. it was mostly all blonde and blue-eyed people (i'm sure you'd love it), some nice and some not very kind to foreigners. overall, there's a strong sense of community and the good ol' southern hospitality is very evident, like every neighbor came to greet us when we first moved here 😌. you could probably listen to some early taylor swift songs and it's something like that 🙃
