There's really not much to say about me. I'm just your average guy who likes to watch anime. If you wish to contact me, don't hesitate. I won't bite...or I'll try not to at the very least. :P
I absolutely love pretty much all Japanese seiyuu, so if you would like to have a discussion on them, feel free to let me know. :D
Note: Please take my ratings with a grain of salt. I am a bit of a fickle grader, and I have no doubt contradicted myself many times while rating things. I find generic ratings for shows to be somewhat meaningless since you can't really say all that you want to say with a single letter or number.
10 - The (almost) Unobtainable. To me, a 10 is close to perfection, and I don't believe that there is a single show without its flaws. Basically, if I ever give something a 10, you can be assured that I think it's the best thing ever. And I will fight you to the death to defend its honor!
9 - This is basically my de facto 10. These are shows that I consider to be some of the best of the best. They might not be widely considered to be revolutionary (some of them might even be considered mediocre or bad by the majority), but in my subjective opinion, they were absolutely spectacular. Note: If we could give half ratings, there are a couple of shows that would probably get an 8.5, but they got rounded up to a 9.
8 - This is what I give most shows. They might not have been fantastic, but they were decent in their own right. They are "good" just like MAL describes the "8" rating to be. Sure, you could argue that I give too many 8s, but what can I say? I'm a simply minded fellow with simple tastes.
7 - Decent, but it had some flaws. This is what I would consider to be a relatively average series. Not bad, but not great either. Kind of...lukewarm? Entertaining in their own right though.
6 - This had some flaws to it. Flaws that even I consider to be somewhat glaring. It's still tolerable enough to be watchable, but I probably wouldn't ever rewatch it. Some shows (Rail Wars and Samurai Flamenco come to mind) get this rating because they're guilty pleasures. They have flaws to them, but they have enough charm (in my opinion) that I still liked them. But, they don't match enough of my usual criteria to get a higher rating.
5 and below - I have to this date, never given something this bad. If 9 is my de facto 10, 5 is my de facto 1. I don't start shows that have a bad reputation to them, and I'm usually very tolerant with shows, so it's very hard for me to give anything lower than a 6. If a show gets a 5, coming from someone as relaxed as I am, I would highly recommend avoiding at all costs.
Favorites: Now, you might have noticed that not all of my favorites have the highest ratings on my list. That's because, the number that I give a series doesn't necessarily reflect how much I enjoyed the series. You can get a decent idea of what I thought of the series, but for me, enjoyment is the most important factor. I watch these shows to be entertained. They might not have gotten the highest ratings on my list, but I most certainly did enjoy them. That is why something like Witch Craft Works (which got a 7) is listed as part of my favorites, while something like Subete ga F Ni Naru: The Perfect Insider (which got a 9) did not. Ultimately, these shows felt very special to me.
