I used to keep track of anime I'd watched using a list on my phone. MAL is probably better, but it does mean I now also have a 'plan to watch' list that sits there and stares at me judgmentally. I will get round to you, Cowboy Bebop! I swear! I'm just busy watching trash with work and stuff!

I used to follow seasonals. Nowadays, with the job I have, that's no longer possible. It's a shame not to experience the hype as a show comes out, but I like to think it means I've got advance warning on what turned out good or bad.

My rating system is a bit ad-hoc, and almost entirely subjective. Enjoyment is king, in anime as in life. No other factors matter. Well, that's not quite true, there are lots of other factors that are important (aesthetics being chief among them, for me), but they're only taken into account inasmuch as they affect enjoyment. Anime is entertainment, after all.
