Good afternoon, I'm Martisha (you can Marti, Tisha, Tish)
I usually watch anime with subtitles (for good reason).
I can try almost any genre, if the work attracted something. But most of all I like slice of life, comedy and detective animes.
Very-very rarely watch: Military, Ecchi, Romance, Isekai. I don't like overrealistic style in animes.
My favorite topics: finding myself, my way, growing up, overcoming life's difficulties, hobbies and professions, moving from the big city to the backwoods and vice versa!
I live in "Osomatsu", worship "Panty and Stocking", and respect Fujio Akatsuka,
Naoki Urasawa, Hiroyuki Imaishi, Matsumoto Leiji
I like tricky characters, savvy, elegant, lively, bright. I don't like typical (insert your own). LOVE theatergoers, romantics, caring, gentle, positive, gentlemen and ladies.
Best Girl: Panty - takes everything from life, strong, confident, says what she thinks, spits on the opinion of others, easily adjusts to the situation and is not ashamed of anything
Best Boy: Sanji - romantic, caring; man who can cook!!! We are alike in many ways, in the flashback with his past, felt sorry for him.
Just Liked: Aya Shameimaru from Tohou project.
Separately, I'd like to introduce Iyami (Iyami by Fujio Akatsuki, not from Oso-san! They turned the nice character to pathetic ). In a nutshell, he helped me to get out of a difficult life situation, full of apathy, indifference, and hopelessness, feeling that I exist rather than live. He's incredibly special to me.
It's important to know that I adore France and Japan! My two favorite countries.
I listen Vocaloid music, eurobeat, j-pop, j-rock, metall, Scorpions, Green Day and Sonata Arctica.
I advise everyone to watch it: Animation Runner Kuromi, Napping Princess, Little Witch Academia, Spy x Family, Osomatsu-kun (1988)

You've got some deep thoughts there, and I totally get where you're coming from. It’s all about finding your own groove and rocking it.
I love Classic anime and solo walks in nature walks sound like the perfect pass time for me but I live in the city center of a metropolitan city.
I am always up for a peaceful mind.
Take care my friend
And you nailed it.
The older detective mysteries indeed showed more of the characters sleuthing skills compared to the modern day shows where forensic and security footage play a huge role.
Ive seen usotoki rhetoric and meiji tantei and I love mysteries set in the Victorian era, meiji era in Japan or the republican era n China.
I watch a lot of live-action mystery dramas as well
Exploring the world of Leijiverse sounds like a plan! Yes the Arcadia of My Youth" is a great pick to go deeper into Captain Harlock's backstory. It's amazing how our understanding of themes evolves as we grow, making re-watching classics make me feel safe and they are my happy place.. Im never okay, I always feel detached from society —my life is a whirlwind . So rewatching anime like kochikame, detective Conan, Gintama makes me very happy. I had a really happy childhood and my adulthood is very difficult for me, I cant accept it, I am still a kid at heart.
I love Slice of life anime because they are incredibly soothing and a perfect way to escape the world.
Yea Moving to a big city and starting a new job is a big step, and it's awesome you're finding ways to manage stress and relax. Azumanga Daioh is a classic comedy —I adore Chio-chan and Ayumu definitely.
Yea Keep enjoying those relaxing moments and discovering new favorites! Take care
I'm so glad you enjoyed Galaxy Express 999! Matsumoto Leiji's work has dark style that a hit with many fans. space adventure, dark themes, and striking character designs, especially the ethereal beauty of matel and Queen Emeraldas is truly iconic in Otaku culture.
It's fascinating how my tastes have changed over time! I now know Galaxy Express 999 have a darker undertone, reflecting the post-war era's sentiments, which didn't come as a surprise when I was a kid but now I am scared of such dark anime..
I am now always fancy a light-hearted space adventure over it.
I am now into comedy, slice-of-life, and Cute Girls Doing Cute Things (CGDCT) anime, and there are plenty of delightful anime I wanna watch or rewatch .
Which one of Matsumoto Leiji's work do you think you'll dive into next?
So any anime in particular that caught you by surprise this fall?
I think I'll surely give a try to Area 88 now that you recommended it, I can let you know as soon as I watch it. thank you for mentioning the TV compared to the OVA, I can relate when a story worth of good 3-4 OVA episodes is kinda stretched into a full TV show, and because of that it feels different.
Hope you enjoy Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni whenever you decide to watch it :) I especially like the main heroine, she is a very head-in-the-clouds girl who likes to draw, which may be in a way relatable to you (as I can see from your instagram link). By the way, wishing you good luck with your art!
I find it wonderful that you love Area 88 so deeply, I can clearly see your point on this one, and it’s really admirable how empathetic you are about its subject! As for me, the answer is pretty simple, I was about 14 when I had this movie on a DVD (a compilation of OVA I guess now?), so I simply couldn’t appreciate the story due to being way too young at the time. But to be honest, since I keep re-watching various animes from my youth, as I hardly remember most of them, I’m looking forward to watching Area 88 again someday, too! Such themes as the cost and meaning of a single life amid war, the hard choices caused by the cruel circumstances of being a soldier, and the trauma and consequences coming along are extremely touching for me nowadays. So thank you for your interest, I hope I gave you a decent answer! My own favorite war animes (although they’re rather about the perspective of civilians) are Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni and Windaria, have you ever happened to see these?
As for Death Note, I can’t understand how anyone can like/admire the MC (Light Yagami). Same thing for Johan in Monster. While I can appreciate both series for their stories & how well they were presented, I can’t honestly call either one of my favorites.
Not exactly sure what you mean by “topic”. I tend to enjoy genres like fantasy & supernatural the most. Not usually a fan of horror, sports or idol. Though there are exceptions & I try to explore a variety. Also I tend to enjoy series with a positive vibe & some humor to them. I can appreciate more serious or darker themes, but I usually like a happy ending or at least need to watch something lighter along with it so I don’t wind up depressed. So I guess what I watch does affect my mood.
