I like animes that are psychological, animes with gore, horror. Animes that are supernatural. Sci-fi, Police, Anemia and others works fine too. My favorites are: Shinsekai Yori, Another, Deadman Wonerland, Higurashi, Psycho Pass, Mirai Nikki and so on.
On the side, I like weird/silly but interesting animes such as "Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita", "Nichijou" and "Kokoro Connect." I rarely watch lovey-dovey anime, but I've seen shows such as"B Gata H Kei and Lovely Complex."
I watch/have watched a lot of the long animes too, including Onepiece, Naruto, Bleach and Fairy Tail.
I don't really read manga, so you won't find anything on my manga page. Sorry :)

You had a good point in your thread though. A lot of anime that have come out for the past few seasons seem to be very cutesy school romance/SOL/Yuri/Fanservice/Harem/Comedy/Moe shows sadly. Not that I universally don't like those shows, but it just gets old if you watch the same sort of thing over and over again. That and darker anime can be fun because of the possibilities of unexpected death and plot developments, where characters from many other anime may be always safe or you know nothing will ever happen to them because they are the MC or in close relation to the MC.
I completed Future Diary lately, and it surprised with how good it was. I had put it off for a long time because all I ever saw were either people bashing the anime or people praising yuno as the best psycho-girl ever. The first op and ed songs are fucking amazing.
I'm planning on watching steins gate later this year. I'm planning on watching steins gate and Madoka in the near future. I usually watch 1 show that has finished airing along with 5-10 currently airing shows. Right now my Finished Airing show is "Planetes". I'm watching Stein's Gate after that then Madoka after that, then Revolutionary Girl Utena, then Soul Eater.
