Recommendation Club Newsletter~Holiday Edition

As we enter into one of the busiest times of the year, we here at the Recommendation Club would like to extend our wishes for each and every one of you to have a wonderful holiday season!

Since the September newsletter, our club has gained many new members, and seen the return of old ones. We would like to keep the momentum going, and with our member list now at 3,111, that should be no problem at all! ^_^.

We would like all of our members, old and new, to help keep this an active, and fun club, a place to Chat and to seek out recommendations in our General anime and General Manga thread as well as the specific anime genre threads, such as Drama and Romance and Sci-fi and many others as well.

It’s a great place to make new friends, or renew past friendships, and we urge all of our members to drop by, and post in the various threads and comment section, as well as share you expertise with other members.

We look forward to seeing you all here !

News:

With the fall season upon us, the club has not been as active recently with our members being busy with work, school, and the other things life throws our way, but we here at the Recommendation Club want to let all of our members know that we haven't gone anywhere! We welcome you all to drop by, and say hello to old friends, or make new ones. We have a large member-list, and we would like to see all of you joining in, and sharing, your anime and manga knowledge with the club!

Loads of new members join all the time, either wanting recommendations, or eager to share their expertise with others, so don't be shy, and join right in! Like to chat? Well we have a thread just for that. New to our club or like to greet others? Check out our Intro thread. Looking for a new anime to watch or manga to read? Head on over to our General Recommendation Thread. Don't see what you want to know? Please feel free to make new threads to get your burning questions asked, or just join in with the others in the comments section!

We are currently seeking help with our member cards, so if you feel like lending a hand in this area you are more than welcome!

News and Request for Help

Our club is almost one year old and we'll be most likely celebrating it with lots of specials and contests, so you might wanna check out the club at least once every few days as something new might appear in the horizon. :D

We noticed that while the member count keeps growing by day, we aren't exactly as active as we should be. It would be nice to see more and more people chatting in the comments or in the chat thread. I'd like to mention that a chat thread in our club gets closed after a comment or so is made on page 50. I'd like to get this one closed so we can start one anew in our next club year. Thanks in advance.

I'd also be glad if you introduced yourself in our special threads or warmly welcome our new members that have posted there. Also, if you have any trouble deciding what anime you want to watch or if you want to help others, take a look at the recommendation thread and post there.

If anyone is willing to make member cards, just post the templates in this thread or pm them to me. If you have made some other kind of graphic for the club you can post it in the comments or, again, pm it to me.

All the new series show potential to turning into great series.
Infinite Stratos is very interesting, i thought it was gona be a plain old mech anime but it showed a more interesting side to it. Waiting to see the battle between wats her face and the main dude.

Beelzebub just made my day i enjoyed watching it, i think im gonna enjoy this series the most. i couldnt stop laugh through the show.

Kore wa zombie desu ka? im looking forward to how this show will turn out. i like the twist of him being killed by a serial killer and he wants to find him

Freezing im looking forward to the second episode i havent read the manga so i have no idea hows it gona turn out but it could go either one direction or another at this point.
1)the Guy could be the one that gets injured by protecting the girl that looks like his sis
or
2)The girl flings him aside and she gets hurt and he is scared because he sees the girl that he thinks is his sister getting killed

i like this show so far because its interesting. i find the alien dude very funny. and i think ill probably enjoy watchin this show

Kimi ni todoke II is pretty good, something to watch, not so happy with it only being a 13 epi series though TT_TT

Just watched the first episode of Rio Rainbow Gate.
First impression was that the show had nice attractive art.
After watching the whole episode i have to say i was really disappointed because its just an ecchi show basically. theres no real plot (there has to be some sort of plot for me to follow).
Characters really weren't unique looking or even memorable. None of them stand out.
What did you think about it?

I know right? i hope they make it into a TV series or atleast have a sequel when more books come out.

Ore no Imoutos ending IMO was kinda lame. it was a good way to end it off but idk i expected something different. i liked how they added the twist but they shouldve hinted it through out the show (or atleast the episode before T_T) if they were going to do it.
MM! finally got to see mios PANTSU XD jk jk it was the best way to end of the show i think. i think that mio and Kirino are the same person.. i havent checked but i thought i heard the same voice. New voice of Tsunderes?

O i thought Starry Sky was gonna be about a girl that pretends to be a guy. must of read the Bio wrong.... lol.

Idk about MM! and Angel beats Specials. Usually they're horribly made and i just dont want to see good anime ruined.

I think ill try out houkago no Pleiades, just to see how Gainax does. seems interesting

I cant wait til they air so i can actually watch them ><. maybe a hidden treasure will be one of these shows. ;D

Ok Ayatsuji is awesome haha. But for her arc it should be way longer IMO, the Third episode of her arc i felt was rushed, if they take the time to throughly do her arc she could be really good. Overall im liking it a lot. I did not expect her to be like this, which was a nice surprise. Rihoko's arc was a failure nufsaid. i feel like theres a lot more they could do with this but i dont think they will with only 2 episodes left.

OK these are the ones that seem interesting to me. (btw thanks ;D now i dont have to go find out what new series are coming out)
Kimi ni todoke -since i already started it might as well finish it.(7-8 rating from me maybe a 6) just something to watch for me.

Beezlebub- My cuz is really liking the Manga so im really interested in what this series is about.

Merry Dream Eater- hmm might be interesting, might not. but looks nice interesting Bio

Dragon Crisis- the Eyes... thats all i need to say. instantly caught my eye when i looked through. Interesting name, havent read the bio but hmm might as well try.

Is this a Zombie?- probably will be the one im looking forward to the most. really interesting plot, and i really want to see how this will turn out.

Starry Sky- Sounded like a Harem, might be a genderbender.either way both are my favorite Genres hah

I Don't like you at all, big Brother- Interested in how this will compare to Ore no Imouto, or KissXsis

The series in Bold are the ones that i think will be the pretty good. Hbu? which ones are interesting to you? im kinda disappointed in whats coming out though. Nothing really attracts my attention other than "Is this a Zombie?" o well i cant really judge an anime until ive seen it.

Have you heard Code Geass R3 is gonna come out soon?? i thought it would air during the Winter seasons but i guess not. :( CANT WAIT

Well i hope they do a way better job with this one than Rihoko. Finish off with a bang. I was extremely dissapointed with how it ended, nothing really happened at all in this arc. i liked how it started from her point of view instead of Juinchi's thought they were gonna go some where with that but guess not. It was a filler arc in my perspective.

Eyeshield is awesome, but i havent had a chance to finish that or have any motivation to watch it right now.

No problem dude haha. The first i watched episode 1 it made me laugh so hard xD. Glad u are enjoying it. I found it on Crunchyroll by accident when i was watching EyeShield 21.

It is worth watching IMO, if u like Fatina... ull enjoy it haha

Just remembered one! TOWER OF DRUAGA, if u are a fan of shonen this is the one for u. Great comedy and drama.

Tell me what u think of this one and Natsume yujinchou if u get the chance to watch em. 2 of my personal favorites ;D

Same here it probably wouldnt be the same series. this series seems more of a comedy than an ecchi show.

Ok one anime that is short but im not sure if u would enjoy it, Natsume Yuujinchou (12 eps) Its a nice relaxing series, just a series u can sit back and enjoy. Its about friendship as u can tell from the name of the series between Madara and Natsume. Its one of my personal favorites.
I would also suggest Clannad ~Afterstory~ ,IMO way better than the first series.
If u like Mecha/music/Romance then i would suggest Macross Frontier (24 or 25 eps)

What types of anime do u like best? Romance, Shonen, Comedy,etc.
