I finally had time this past weekend to finish the last arc of Who Made Me a Princess, and I'm so glad I did! As someone with a complicated relationship with their dad, it was a wistful but ultimately wholesome read. The characters were well-rounded, and their growth felt believable. Beyond its gorgeous artwork, I really appreciated WMMAP’s plot—just as you said, it was reminiscent of Villains Are Destined to Die, full of suspense and political intrigue, but with a much softer tone. In a crazy time like now, I needed that softness. <3
Thank you again for the obvious intentionality behind such a thoughtful recommendation. I loved how effortlessly you catered to my request for romance as a subgenre. While I’ve read plenty of works where romance is the main focus, I sometimes find it’s used as a crutch rather than allowing real relationship-building to unfold. That wasn’t the case here; I even spent a good amount of time searching for those promised side stories, hoping for some resolution to the Athy/Lucas/Ijekiel love triangle, without success. (I’m 100% captain of the Athy/Lucas ship, what about you?) Either way, we’ll just have to keep hoping and keep an eye out! (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑
Tysm for the thoughtful gift rec! I’ve already started Oumagadoki Doubutsuen, and it’s been such a quirky and fun read so far. It’s definitely not something I would’ve picked on my own, but that’s exactly what makes activities like this so special. I did see that it was canceled due to low readership—which explains why it’s so short—so I’m taking my time to savor it.
I can totally see the parallels you mentioned to Nurarihyon no Mago. Hana’s personality and growth, along with the sense of community with the zoo animals, really do remind me of Rikuo’s journey with the youkai. The lighthearted tone has been the perfect pick-me-up, especially since I’ve been reading much heavier works lately.
I also wanted to apologize for the mix-up with the volume limit; I imagine it made your job trickier! I had a bit of a brain fart and apparently forgot how less than and greater than symbols worked... (ᵕ—ᴗ—) Although I did go back and fix my original post, it was too late by then. If you have a completed manhwa rec to share, no length limit this time, I’d still love to have it. No pressure at all, though!
Thanks for making my first MAL Secret Santa experience such a wonderful one. <3
Enjoy the dayyy! Cheers~
I'll catch up soon ^ ^
Just to keep you up to date, I have also finished:
- All You Need Is Kill (just listing it for the record ^_^)

- Girls of the Wild's
At some point, I'll definitely try and tackle your other recommendations. I've really liked the ones so far, so I'm looking forward to it. Thank you again!
