Note: There's been a lot of people doing this on MAL recently. Please do not sent me a friend request just for the sole purpose of having a large friends list. I am not a Pokémon, I am not to be collected for the heck of it. Unless I know you from clubs or you leave a message with your request expressing interest in my profile, do not send me a friend request. I have enough friends.
Hello and welcome to my profile. I like to watch a variety of anime but i enjoy RomHarEchComs the most (Romantic Harem Ecchi Comedies). I don't like mainstream anime (One Piece, Fairy Tail, etc.) but this doesn't mean we can't be friends if you like it. I will watch a mainstream anime once in awhile if it's actually GOOD and deserving of its popularity (i.e. Boku no Hero Academia, Seven Deadly Sins, Attack on Titan), not just mainstream because it's a shounen that has been around for long enough to grow a big fanbase (referring to the mainstream anime I mentioned before).
I also don't like shows that have 10 seasons and 5 movies and 3 spin offs. At most, I will watch 5 seasons of a show if it's really good and easy to catch up with if I fall behind. After all, in the time it takes to watch 10 seasons of one anime you can watch 10 anime that have 1 season, or 5 with 2.
I watch anything I find interesting and I'm committed to finishing it unless it is boring and leaves a nasty taste in my mouth (I generally try to avoid completely dropping a show). If an anime remains on my Currently Watching list for a long time, that means I either forgot about the show, or I found it slightly boring and I'm in no rush to get back to it
For the most part, I rate based off enjoyment. If the graphics are bad, the story is iffy, and the characters aren't likeable, this may or may not affect my enjoyment of the show, and therefore its rating. If I feel particularly strong about a show, I will write a review on it, and in this case it will be judged for more than enjoyment, obviously. Generally, I will only write a review on really bad shows or really good shows.
10: Show had me on the edge of my seat! Super exciting, entertaining, or funny, respectably. Most likely binge watched out of enjoyment, or slowly watched out of sadness it was ending. A 10 is very rare for me, as it denotes a favorite. I do not have too many favorite shows nowadays, usually I watched the show when I was younger and it's what lead me to get deeper into anime.
9: There were many great moments in the show, but the show is not a personal favorite. When I watch a show, I know if I will forever treasure it, or if it was awesome, but not a masterpiece. This is the highest score a show will achieve without being a favorite. 8: Show was really good, however, had a few flaws that ultimately stopped it from achieving its true potential. A plot hole here, animation there, etc. It was better than average shows of its genre, though
7: This is the lowest score I will give to a "good" show. This show is average. I found it more enjoyable than most, however, I cannot justify giving it a higher score. The show got boring here and there, the animation wasn't up to par for the time it came out, or it just couldn't hold my attention all the time. I rate a lot of shows 7 because a lot of shows are average. Not good, not bad, just, average. 6: The show was worse than the average show, but still not the worst I've seen. This show has a respectable premise and characters, however, I personally couldn't connect with the show and it frequently let me down when I was looking forward to watching it. This show was a drag. When I refer to a show being mid, this is the score I am referring to.
5: This show is truly average. Not in a, "kinda good kinda bad" way, but my expectations for it were medium to low, and it still shot below that. I saw the show and thought it was going to be good, but it turned out worse than I thought, whether due to animation, story, characters, or other aspects of the show.
4: Watching the show makes me upset. Something here or there was good, but the show as a whole was bad. This score is very rare, because usually once I identify a show as bad, it gets a 2 or 1. Some quality of the show redeemed it from dipping that low, however. 3: The show is bad! From start to finish it was cringe! At this rate I'm considering dropping the show! The only thing stopping me from rating it a 1 is maybe I like the main character or maybe the show is funny. Other than that, consider it trash!
2: Oh god, my eyes! The show is so bad it's laughable. People who watch this must have nothing better to do, or they are also watching it to laugh at how bad it is like I am. The show was extremely disappointing, but is a funny joke.
1: No joke here, the show is abysmal. Nothing can redeem this absolutely shit show. A show with the score of 1 is a show that made me fume by the time I was finished with it. The main characters were ass, the plot was disgustingly confusing, and I would never even wish my worst enemy to watch this show.
A lot changes over 6 years, so that's understandable. I didn't even watch anime beyond yugioh and stuff until I was 19, so I cannot say I've had the same experience. I've slowed down a lot too. Good luck in college and hopefully you do like the suggestion whenever you get around to checking the show out.!
I remember getting you friend request probably back when I actually did things in the "anime Guild" group on here, and seeing that you were likely only 14 at the time. I was actually looking at my friends list today and clicked on your name, only to realize that it's already been 6 years. I don't know how active you are on here, and I've probably never said much before, but it just struck me.
I see that you're not really watching anything that's airing. I would recommend "Tensei Oujo to Tensai Reijou no Mahou Kakumei" for a very fun and cutesy yuri so far. Sorry for commenting out of the blue, but at least I remembered adding you.
It's likely before your time if you haven't heard of it until now. The internet used to be incredibly disturbing for me because it would pop up here and there.
An interesting answer that I can't disagree with, though I wouldn't say it's the worst it was incredibly annoying.
As for me, 'Shoop da Whoop' terrifies me. I'm not even sure of the origin of the meme, all I know is that I've had nightmares of that face and it sends shivers down my spine even looking at it today. Definitely would travel back to remove it.
That's rather hilarious. A good friend of mine had been trying to get me to watch that anime, but I never did xD So the fact it was that anime makes me laugh.
I have seen all the suggestions, but not Hundred so I guess I need to check it out and the twintail show. Thanks!
