I am... Vik(toria); my username is from a book called Meeting Faith & it's a Buddhist term that I identify with strongly. I'm 26 years old, but I don't act or look it. (Seriously, I still get carded! D:) I'm currently disabled but I study Japanese in my spare time & I hope to study it in college sometime in the next few years. I would like to do freelance translation work. (I know that a lot of anime/manga fans say that, but I'm truly serious. It's my dream & I've been working hard to achieve it.)


I watch... everything! :P
Anime: I fail at being original or edgy. My first introduction to anime was Sailor Moon (dubbed *shudder*) & I was a goner. It's still my favourite anime of all time & thankfully I now only watch it in the original Japanese. :D I've only recently started to expand my horizons -- Haibane Renmei, Witch Hunter Robin, & Great Teacher Onizuka are some of my more current favourites. (As far as GTO goes, I don't like the manga but I love the anime. Weird, huh?)

Dramas: After falling head over heels in love with the Hana-Kimi manga, I tracked down both the Japanese & Taiwanese drama versions. <3 <3 <3 <3 Again, I was a goner as soon as I watched my first episodes. Hanazakari no Kimitachi E & Hanazakarino Kimitachihe own a piece of my soul. As with anime, I haven't had a chance to watch as much as I would like to lately but Hotaru no Hikari, Last Friends, Nodame Cantabile, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, & Zettai Kareshi are all AWEsome.

I read... everything! (Remember what I said about being unoriginal? It's true! XP) I like shōjo, shōnen, josei, seinen, and both yuri & yaoi manga. Like I said, pretty much everything. :D My absolute #1 favourite is Hana-Kimi. I also love Beauty is the Beast, MeruPuri, Fruits Basket, NANA, & Shinshi Doumei Cross.

My favourite mangakas include Hisaya Nakajo, Matsuri Hino, Ai Yazawa, Bisco Hatori, Arina Tanemura, & Haruka Fukushima.

I like Japanese novels as well, though I haven't read nearly enough of 'em. :D Battle Royale, Kamikaze Girls, & Socrates in Love were all fantastic.

I also... play video games. I'm sucker for a good RPG & I'm especially fond of the Final Fantasy series. I write fanfiction, though it's been awhile since I put anything online. I also do a bunch of other stuff that's too boring to mention here. ;)


I'm still fairly new to MyAnimeList but it's quickly become my second home. (My first home is my LiveJournal.) Feel free to friend me or invite me to a club -- I'm so lost that I would definitely appreciate the gesture. :D :D :D
