I applied the same reasoning to Shelter, you only gave it a score one point lower than f/zero, so you most likely thought it was only slightly worse. The story in Shelter, I believed, was practically non-existent.
You wrote on the other guy's profile that you believed the characters in Mirai Nikki were better than in f/zero, which I'd also disagree with. The characters in f/zero lack development, with the exception of Waver, fair enough, but they are very deep and have clearly defined moral actions, which lead to their interactions being genuinely interesting. I'd argue that the characters in f/zero are more of a selling point than the story, since the story left a lot unexplained and had a few plot holes here and there. Mirai Nikki's characters, on the other hand, were either illogical or existed only to make the story """darker""" by having little substance and having as much fucked up shit as the writer could think of crammed into their backstories. The MCs didn't make any sense to me either, Yuno was not likeable in any way and her actions weren't realistic at all, and Yukiteru remained indecisive throughout the entire series and ended up fucking the girl who basically enslaved him earlier of his own free will.
I don't really consider myself a Fate fanboy, zero wasn't terrible, but I only gave it an 8 and recently changed it to a 7. There were areas of the story that were left unexplained and had a few plot holes, but I believed the characters were deep enough to make up for their lack of development, as I explained more in depth above. Thanks
