And it's so nice to meet you too!
Also, you've written "Let's Get Along" in your profile. So I thought, why not?
I haven't been following anime seasons that closely last year, since I built up my PC and I've done more gaming. Hogwarts Legacy is coming soon and that should be fun, especially with the PS5 controller and haptic feedback. And I can't wait for the summer when Starfield hopefully launches.
As for anime, I somehow almost missed that Kaina of the Great Snow Sea is airing. I liked Knights of Sidonia and then loved the Blame! movie. Tsutomu Nihei's projects with studio Polygon have grown on me a lot. His SciFi settings are so unique and the world of Kaina is very reminiscent of Nausicaa, plus the music is great.
Sometimes I fill the gaps with watching or re-watching some shonen anime that I haven't seen for a very long time. I'm going through Naruto right now and it's so dumb lol, plus it has a ton of filler I need to fast forward to keep my sanity. But I like some of the characters and I like shonen anime in general because it feels like you're constantly going on an adventure.
Many complained that these rebuilds & remakes isn't true to it's originals, but that's the whole point. It's not meant to rival or even replace the original. The rebuilds & remakes are made to re-tell the great stories of it's past respective stories to this generation with new twist & improvements that the original couldn't achieve (mostly due to technological limitations). While still sticking to the foundations, fundamentals, & quality that make the original very memorable to this day.
Space Battleship Yamato 2199-2025, Rebuild of Evangelions, Legend of the Galactic Heroes: The New Thesis. Those are not flawless, but is more than enough. Considering that those sadly didn't gain the attention & appreciation it deserves (at least in the West/International market), the production teams & committees still putting their heart out to these series. It is evident by the consistent production quality these teams & committees maintain, despite the neverending sometimes harsh comments by those who still blinded by nostalgia. & I grateful for that.
