Yes it was a fun throwback to an old genre that was essentially a lot of fun. I fail to see how this transcends the concentrated fun that it seems to imply to attain a masterpiece status.

And I may have to join the DFC club.

Well I didn't marathon it and I certainly disagree with you there. It was a highly entertaining series but also very simple and quite immature.

I changed my original rating of 9 or 8, to a 1 when I saw that it was the first or second highest rated anime on the anime rankings. Something about the fact that there are waves upon waves of n00bs rushing in abd proclaiming it to be "epic" and "a masterpiece" irked me enough to change it to a 1 out of symbolic protest!
