Your list comes in at 75.7% compatible. You're only 24.3% wrong! :D ha ha, but no I am always unduly gratified to find another person shows taste that makes sense to me. :-)
Kirameki is the name of the main heroine's father (who is a writer). :)
And 49.4% compatibility is quite high actually, there are lots of people I have less than 20% compatibility with. The lowest I've seen was 12% I think. :D
If you truly have grade school reading comprehension, then you would be able to play through the game even without AGTH in most situations, sans the Kanji. If, as you stated, it's vastly overstated, then probably like me, you will gain about 80% of the understanding. You will get the gist of the story. Maybe enough background knowledge to piece of a couple of cultural references. You will miss out on a lot of jokes and descriptions, none of which should detract your enjoyment if you liked previous Key works.
Well, I do know all the kanji and some hiragana and katakana, so it wasn't too bad. There were stuff I missed that I noticed when I played through the Chinese patch, but it wasn't much. That's why, in the later games, the only ones I use AGTH are mostly short ones under 10 hours. Kimiaru, Clannad, and Koihime are the only other long works I've gone through using AGTH.
I originally played through the game with my limited Japanese and AGTH. There is a Chinese patch released now, but I'm not sure how much that will help you....
Seems like our anime compatibility rating's quite high.
