I completely agree with you. I was really curious about why so many yuri series were being announced for anime adaptations this year. After watching a few videos on the topic, a lot of creators mentioned that it largely comes down to engagement. The more popular a manga becomes, and the more discussion and support it receives the more likely it is to get adapted quickly. It seems like there’s been a noticeable rise in yuri fans lately, which is probably why the genre is finally getting the recognition it deserves. (^v^)
I feel the same way about Love Bullet. I'm so glad it gained the attention it did. It’s such a unique series, and honestly, I was hooked just by the character designs alone.
I remember going through a phase where I felt like I had an endless supply of yuri to explore. Then one day I thought, “Why not try reading every yuri manga, manhwa, etc I can find on this manga random site?” For a while, it felt like I had run out of things to read, but thankfully, new titles keep coming out all the time. I definitely understand that feeling of discovering a seemingly endless world of yuri content. :)
If you ever decide to watch Michiko & Hatchin, I really think you’ll enjoy it. It’s a great series that felt ahead of its time in many ways. It was especially refreshing to see an anime that wasn’t set in Japan, it offered such a unique and diverse atmosphere that made it stand out from a lot of other shows.
Being an anime fan doesn’t mean you have to watch anime constantly. As long as you enjoy it and appreciate it in your own way, that’s what really matters even if it sounds a bit cliché. ^_^
Hope you have a great time watching Durarara with your friend! :)
yeah that's understandable, manga is also quicker to get through compared to anime episodes which is really convenient. yup that's how anime burnout happens.
yeah this month's contest wasn't as competitive but i do think that your layout did deserve the win :] also it's a march layout in the march contest it should win for that alone :p jk. ohh looking forward to your new layout! i wonder what character/theme it will feature :] i will be entering the contest indeed! just got nominated by a friend. thanks! we'll see how it'll do in the contest :]
ah i see, you should get some sleep!
that's understandable, it's easy to get burnt out of anime since certain genres tend to follow the same tropes over and over again. do you prefer reading manga over that then?
That's what I was thinking, yeah. For a while I thought it wasn't gonna get good, but it did near the end. But yeah I'd say episodes 7-10 were a 7 while the rest were just a 4.
