I'm a 30-something software engineer based out of Canada somewhere. I've worked in a variety of creative and technical roles across several industries over the years, ranging from graphic designer, 3D modeler, animator, web designer/developer, game developer (overlapping with many of these areas), and even tried my hand at being a novelist for a brief stretch. All I can say is that the transitions made sense at the time, even if the result seems rather meandering in hindsight. =)

I tend to go into far too much depth about why I enjoy or don't enjoy elements of a show. Part of it is simply my personality, but at least some of it is like an "occupational disease" of sorts, in that I have an exceedingly technical profession that requires a great amount of attention to detail, and some of that attention to detail carries over into my hobbies. It's somewhat hard to shake the habit when posting on discussion boards, especially since part of my job is... posting on software engineering discussion and Q&A boards.

I honestly make every effort not to appear condescending, but due to the entirely unnecessary level of detail in some of my comments, it can be difficult at times not to give that impression. This is not intentional. I do not think that my opinion is worth more than anyone else's, and I dislike sarcasm, mocking tones, and other troll-like behaviour. That said, I am definitely an opinionated person, and quite expressive.

If at all possible, please take my comments in the completely sincere spirit in which they're intended, do not think that remarks like "has a weak story" means that I think a series has no value, or that I believe my tastes to be superior to anyone else's tastes, and let's try to get along!

My favourite titles tend to be cute slice-of-life series, romance series (both the fluffy/idealized sort and the more 'realistic' sort), and series with heavy philosophical / psychological elements. I'm not really a fan of shounen / action or sports series, parody series, or non-H series heavy in ecchi content, though there have of course been exceptions to all of those rules.
